1. Three adhesives are being analyzed for their impact on the bonding strength of paper in a pulp and
paper mill. The adhesives are each randomly applied to four batches. The data are shown in the
table below. Here, the three treatments are the adhesives ( ρ = 3), and the number of replications for
each treatment is 4 ( r = 4). The completely randomized design is balanced. (Note that this like
example 12-1.)

Adhesive Type Bonding Strength (kg)

1 12.7 14.3 12.1 14.9
2 15.3 17.2 15.8 17.9
3 9.7 12.3 11.2 11.7

1.1. Define a new data set in QA and use the appropriate One-way ANOVA statistical routine to
determine if there is a difference in terms of the mean bonding strength. Paste your QA output
below. (4 points)

1.2. At the 1% level of significance, is there a difference between the adhesives? (2 points)

2
1.3. Above what level of significance, is there a difference in the diet types? Test. (1 point)

That is 0.10 OR 10.00 % significance level. There is difference in the diet types

1.4. Above what level of significance was the blocking effective? (1 point)
At 0.05 or 5 % level of significance was the blocking effective?
