Penance Reconciliation Confession
Original Sin is washed away at baptism. So why
do we keep on sinning?
-We are all born with a defect, the inherited
result of Adam's sin: at birth, we are already
separated from God. and need to have this
washed away by Baptism.
Why does sin matter?
-This defect is like a division in us that continues
to influence us in our choices and actions.
• we always need God's grace
When the relationship between
God and human beings was established there
was an uninterrupted connection between them.
Humans give honor and worship to God and obey
Him. God gives us His Sanctifying Grace.
It is like a good phone connection with
uninterrupted service
STATE OF GRACE = the state of being in a solid
relationship with God; the connection with God is
not broken.
SIN causes a break and disconnection in our
relationship with God; a loss of SANCTIFYING
GRACE
Restoration
-We must be aware of what is considered a sin
that must be confessed.
ACTUAL SIN is those sins that a person
commits. "Actual sin" is an act against God's will
and law.
There are two kinds of "Actual sin"
1. SIN OF COMMISSION - These are sins we
choose to do on purpose.
2. SIN OF COMMISSION - These are sins
which happen when we fail to do good
There are two ranks of "Actual sin":
1. MORTAL SINS - A bad sin against the law of
God; it deprives the sinner of sanctifying grace.
It cuts off our relationship with God.
2. VENIAL SINS - A less severe offense against
the law of God; it does not deprive the sinner of
sanctifying grace.
As a Sacrament..
-Penance is an outward sign, instituted by
Christ to give Grace.

Jesus said to Peter..
-" Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and
whose sins you retain are retained."
John 20:23
Reconciliation
-It means to once again re-establish "eyelash to
eyelash" contact in a reconnected relationship.
-In other words, reconciliation brings us eye to
eye with God once more.
So, how do you know you need to go to
Confession?
-A well-informed conscious; knowing right from
wrong and what behavior is sinful and which is
not is important.
-When we have sinned we say that *our
conscience begins to bother us
-We are aware that we have sinned.
-We have broken the Commandments.

EDSA (People power revolution)
-Two million Filipinos from various sectors
participated in a big protest along EDSA from
February 22 to 25, 1986. Civilians, political
parties, the military, and religious organizations
were among those targeted. The radio broadcast
had a significant impact on history. Filipinos
would not have been driven to action if it had
not been for it.
EDSA DOS
-The 2001 EDSA Revolution, which took place
from January 17 to 21, 2001, is also known as
the EDSA Revolution. It was driven by the fact
that 11 of President Joseph Estrada's
Prosecutors walked out of the impeachment trial.
Edsa Dos, like the first People Power Revolution,
would have failed if it weren't for the text
brigades.

• From August 22 to August 26, 2013, a series of
protests primarily took place in Luneta Park.
-The Million People March or famously known as
the "Pork Barrel Scam" was the first ever
ongoing series of protests in the Philippines held
at Luneta Park on the 26th day of August
2013.
•Several protests took place in major cities
around the Philippines, as well as in other
countries. The goal was to call attention to the
mismanagement of the Priority Development
Assistance Fund (PDAF).
•Many Filipinos expressed their anger by
creating blogs, pages, advertisements, and even
memes to show that they agree with the idea of
stopping the Pork Barrel Fund.
The Filipinos behind Power ng Pinoy, a TV
Program in the United States created a
Facebook event page where thousands signified
their intent to join. The #MillionPeopleMarch
trended worldwide and it is the key that the
Philippines' first social media protest being a
success.
