Mr Jones has got a farm, but he mistreats all his animals.

One day, Old Major, the

boar of the farm, tells his companions that he dreamt about a world where
animals were free from human beings, their real enemies.
He also teaches them a revolutionary song called Beasts of England.
Unfortunately, though, the old boar suddenly dies three nights later.
Consequently, Napoleon, Snowball and Squealer, three young pigs, decide to take
control and prepare the Rebellion.
When a drunken Mr Jones forgets to feed the animals, all the beasts of the farm
revolt against Mr Jones and rename their farm as "Animal farm".
In the new Animal Farm, the animals establish to follow the Seven
Commandments of Animalism, that every member of the farm must respect. The
Seven Commandments are:
1. “Whatever goes upon two legs is a enemy”;
2. “Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend”
3. “No animal shall wear clothes” “
4. No animal shall sleep in a bed”;
5. “No animal shall drink alcohol”, “
6. "No animal shall kill any other animal”
7. “All animals are equal”
The most important is the last one.
At the beginning everyone follows the Commandments, but, after a while, the
animals start breaking all the rules. Napoleon and Snowball struggle for pre-
eminence until Napoleon makes the other pig flee using violence. He also starts
killing all the animals that don't agree with him, becoming a dictator and adopting
the lifestyle of a man.
Beast of England is replaced with an anthem glorifying Napoleon, but the animals
remain convinced that they are better off than they were under Mr Jones. When
Boxer, a good horse, is not able to work any longer because of his injury, Napoleon
sends for a van to take Boxer to a knacker, even if he says that he is sending the
horse to a vet.Only Benjamin, the donkey who can read “as well as any pig”,
understands what is happening and attempts to rescue Boxer unsuccessfully. Now
pigs behave like humans: they walk on two legs, they go to live in the farmer's
house, dress like him, take his vices, meet other men with whom to deal business,
and keep other animals in exploitation and slavery.Now, even the Seven
Commandaments are changed, particulary the last one, that now states: "All
animals are equals, but some are more equal than others". Napoleon abolishes
the practice of the revolutionary traditions and restores the name “The Manor
Farm” as well.
Il signor Jones ha una fattoria, ma maltratta tutti i suoi animali. Un giorno, il
vecchio maggiore, il cinghiale della fattoria, racconta ai suoi compagni che
sognava un mondo in cui gli animali fossero liberi dagli esseri umani, i loro veri
nemici.
Insegna loro anche una canzone rivoluzionaria chiamata Beasts of England.
Purtroppo, però, il vecchio cinghiale muore improvvisamente tre notti dopo. Di
conseguenza, Napoleone, Palla di neve e Squealer, tre giovani maiali, decidono
di prendere il controllo e preparare la Ribellione.
Quando un ubriaco Mr. Jones dimentica di dare da mangiare agli animali, tutte
le bestie della fattoria si ribellano contro Mr Jones e rinominano la loro fattoria
come "Animal farm".
Nella nuova Fattoria degli Animali, gli animali stabiliscono di seguire i Sette
Comandamenti dell'Animalismo, che ogni membro della fattoria deve rispettare.
I Sette Comandamenti sono:
"Tutto ciò che accade su due gambe è un nemico";
"Qualunque cosa vada su quattro zampe, o abbia ali, è un amico"
"Nessun animale deve indossare vestiti" "
Nessun animale può dormire in un letto";
"Nessun animale può bere alcolici", "
"Nessun animale ucciderà nessun altro animale"
"Tutti gli animali sono uguali"
Il più importante è l'ultimo.
All'inizio tutti seguono i Comandamenti, ma, dopo un po', gli animali iniziano a
infrangere tutte le regole. Napoleone e Palla di neve lottano per la preminenza
fino a quando Napoleone fa fuggire l'altro maiale usando la violenza. Inizia
anche a uccidere tutti gli animali che non sono d'accordo con lui, diventando un
dittatore e adottando lo stile di vita di un uomo.
Beast of England viene sostituito con un inno che glorifica Napoleone, ma gli
animali rimangono convinti di stare meglio di quanto non fossero sotto Mr
Jones. Quando Boxer, un buon cavallo, non è più in grado di lavorare a causa
della sua ferita, Napoleone manda un furgone a prendere Boxer da un knacker,
anche se dice che sta mandando il cavallo da un veterinario.Solo Benjamin,
l'asino che sa leggere "così come qualsiasi maiale", capisce cosa sta succedendo
e tenta di salvare Boxer senza successo.Ora i maiali si comportano come umani:
camminano su due zampe, vanno ad abitare nella casa del fattore, si vestono
come lui, prendono i suoi vizi, incontrano gli altri uomini con cui trattare gli
affari, e tengono in sfruttamento e schiavitù gli altri animali. Ora, anche i Sette
Comandamenti sono cambiati, in particolare l'ultimo, che ora afferma: "Tutti gli
animali sono uguali, ma alcuni sono più uguali di altri". Napoleone abolisce la
pratica delle tradizioni rivoluzionarie e ripristina anche il nome "The Manor
Farm".
