FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE EXCLUSIVE breastfeeding failure POSKESDES GRANT

Exclusive breastfeeding was given at a breastfeeding mother to her baby during the first 6 months
without companionship ASI fed Him. Exclusive breastfeeding has huge benefits for the baby and his
mother. In the big scope of Tanjung Poskessdes Exclusive breastfeeding is said to fail. It is caused by
low maternal education and knowledge, as well as the socio-cultural changes that cause failure of
exclusive breastfeeding.
This research is an analytical survey research, data collection through interviews using a questionnaire
with a sample of 60 mothers breastfeeding in Poskesdes Cape pawpaw 2011. This study aimed to
determine the relationship of social change in culture, education level, and knowledge of mothers on
exclusive breastfeeding failure
Based on the results of the research shows that less educated respondents of 26 (43.33%), 16
(26.67%) respondents with secondary education, and 18 (30%) respondents are highly educated.
Apart from that recovered 18 (30%) well-educated respondents, 14 (23.33%) respondents are
knowledgeable enough, and 28 (46.67%) respondents are knowledgeable about. Then found the 18
(30%) respondents have a positive socio-cultural changes, and 42 (70%) respondents have a negative
socio-cultural changes. Based on che square test found that there are cultural relations between social
change, education level, and knowledge of mothers on exclusive breastfeeding failure.
From the results it can be concluded that maternal education level of exclusive breastfeeding is still
low, less educated and have a negative socio-cultural changes. With three factors, then there is a
relationship between level of education, knowledge, and social changes pemberianASI Exclusive
culture of failure. In this case the role of energy required health (midwives) to enhance the
socialization of exclusive breastfeeding to the community, as well as an approach to community
leaders to increase the scope of exclusive breastfeeding with appropriate behaviors.
