Term 2 Assessments
To support our teacher judgements, students sit assessments for all subjects within the second half of
Term 2. These assessments highlight gaps in learning so that your teachers know what needs to be
covered again to ensure learning is secure.
Revision material will be provided for you to support your child at home. Whilst this is helpful, please do
not place too much pressure as these are meant to be diagnostic. The assessments do not form the
attainment or progress grade entirely. They are a triangulation of your teachers' observations in each
lesson across the academic year. The grades are given based on our continuous assessment procedure
rather than on one assessment.
Assessment Procedure
The assessments will be completed within the relevant subject lessons, and we will try to minimise the
number of assessments each day. However, these will be conducted under assessment conditions, and,
as such, teachers will not support the students as we need an honest reflection of what they have
retained and understood. Furthermore, once the assessments are completed, we do not share the
assessment papers or scores from assessments because they do not generate a level and would not
support you at home.
Timetable
Assessments begin on Monday, 20th February until Tuesday 7th March. The assessment timetable for each
day is in this letter. If your child is absent, we will reschedule the assessment at a convenient time.
Revision Maps
The revision maps will identify what needs to be revised and where you can find the revision materials.
These are saved in your year group Teams folder. If you have any issues accessing this, please email your
class teacher.
If you have further questions, please get in touch with your class teacher.
Yours faithfully,
James Oakden
