Dhritiraj Sarkar: A True All-Rounder

Dhritiraj Sarkar, a student of Children’s Garden School, Kailashahar, Unakoti,

Tripura, is an all-rounder to watch out for because he is good at so many things
that he could be a world-class talent in many. His knack for learning, quickly and
thoroughly, stretches to geography and polity of several countries, and he is
excellent at spotting nations on an unmarked map. When it comes to arts, he
displays breathtaking skills for his age and training. His talents were first noted
when he was barely three years old by his family, who were as surprised by them
as others would be later.

Born in Tripura in 2016, Dhritiraj has always been inclined towards academics and
extra-curricular activities. His teachers, right from the time he joined school, were
amazed to see not only his love for arts, geography and politics but also how good
he was at them all. However, he could not have polished his skills on his own
without the spirited support he received from his family, which has always been
enormously encouraging, particularly his mother, father, paternal uncle and
maternal grandfather.

Born to Sudhangshu Sarkar and Tanushree Pal, Dhritiraj has always been
motivated by his own talents and initiative, like a self-propelling force of nature.
Since he is interested in world geography and the political conditions of different
countries, he has an exceptionally good eye for the flags of different countries,
and can recognize them instantly, which does not cease to amaze people who
see him do that. He has been very actively participating in various types of
competitions in school. He has received prizes in arts competitions, sports
competitions and quiz competitions as well.

Dhritiraj has received the India Book of Records Award for displaying the enormity
of varied talents he has. With so much active energy and passion in him, Dhritiraj
manages to find time to polish his skills all the time when most of the kids his age
might struggle to keep up with what each day throws at them. And he does all of
that without making any compromises when it comes to regular studies. It never
looks like he is juggling his studies and his interests together, for he does it so
effectively and efficiently that it hardly seems it takes much doing on his part,
which is also the most amazing aspect of his talents. He does on his own what the
teachers of time management keep telling all the time for a hefty fee -- bring
balance and dedicate fixed hours for specific things. Dhritiraj does just that. He
has fixed hours for studies, which leaves the rest of the time for him to indulge his
passion and interests.

For now, Dhritiraj does not bother about the future probably because he is
focused on enjoying and squeezing the most out of the present. That sounds
monkish for sure, but that’s how Dhritiraj operates, which is another thing that
surprised people about this all-rounder. That’s perhaps also what most of us need
to learn from Dhritiraj. Focusing on the present takes care of the future, both near
and distant. Dhritiraj is taking life one day at a time and is presently focused on
academics, and indulges in extra-curricular activities only when he finds time for
them, which is often. Dhritiraj is also good at recitation and has been learning it
systematically.

The last competition he took part in was the drawing competition organized by the
Forest Department, Government of Tripura, and won the second prize in the bird-
drawing segment of the competition. Dhritiraj can do many things, but what he
finally excels at and makes his name in is still in the womb of future.
