Maria Julia Simionato Salvador is a telecommunications engineering student interested in the Écoles Centrales double degree program. She has always had an interest in mathematics and sees its application in engineering problems and the world. The program's focus on mathematics, physics, and engineering fundamentals would allow her to better understand engineering problems using her view of the world through mathematics. The program would also boost her leadership and teamwork skills through group projects and a focus on project management, complementing her training at Enactus. If accepted, she would gain a more well-rounded experience through exposure to a new culture and diverse people.

I am Maria Julia Simionato Salvador, I am a Telecommunications Engineering
student at the State University of Campinas. Since I was a child I've always had an interest and a certain ease with mathematics and it has always been present in different aspects from games such as “O Coelho Sabido” (Reader Rabbit- in English) to cello classes, where harmonic notes are part of a geometric progression when we think about its location on the cello strings, harmonic notes are always halfway between the last harmonic note and the end of the string, for example. This view of mathematics in day-to-day and then physics, led me to choose engineering. The Écoles Centrales double degree program, by providing a generalist engineering course that has a strong focus on a solid foundation in mathematics and physics, would allow me, using this vision that I have developed since I was a child about the world and mathematics, to understand in a more comprehensively way the explanation behind engineering problems. This, along with the methodology applied at the Écoles with the development of group projects and the subjects focused on project management, would boost the development of skills that I am developing during my journey at Enactus, such as leadership and teamwork. So, if I am accepted into your program, I would have my training complemented not only in terms of intellectuality, but also as a human being , with more diverse tools and with different experiences by contact with a new culture and by the exchange of experiences with diverse people, when returning to my country
