Black History Wax Museum

Thursday, 2/16/2023 – 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.

We will be having our annual Wax Museum around the whole school. As
a family, your child will pretend to be an influential black person.
recreate that costume or invention as a model for us to see during the
Wax Museum Night. Here’s how it going to be done.

1. Research, with your child the Black Influential Person that you
have chosen (see teacher for ideas).
2. Make a prop, costume, or a model. Something they can hold,
show, and be able to talk about. For example, Garret A. Morgan
invented the traffic light. A paper towel roll can be painted
yellow, with some green, red, and yellow circles glued on it.
3. Come stay with your child until 4:00 p.m. to set up their
invention. Your child will have a button that someone will press.
When visitors press their button, your child will have to say who
they are (Inventor’s name), what their invention is, and what their
invention is used for. This is why the model is very important!
4. Explore the school and have fun! The whole building will be
participating, so go around and check out what other students
have done.
5. I NEED OUR CHILDREN TO PARTICIPATE!
I want our children to be well represented. Let’s show them how Pre-K does
it! Please come stay with your child until 4:00 on Thursday, 2/16/2023!
