November this year is observed as National Children’s Month (NCM) in our country pursuant

to Presidential Proclamation No. 267 issued on September 30, 1993. The celebration seeks to
emphasize the importance of the role of the child within the Filipino family and in nation
building. It also supports Section 13, Article II of the Philippine Institution, which recognizes the
vital role of the youth in nation building and mandates the promotion and protection of their
physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social well being by instilling in them the values of
patriotism and nationalism, among others, as well as encouraging in public and civic affairs.

This years celebration focuses on the theme “Kalusugan, Kaisipan, at Kapakanan ng bawat bata
ating tutukan.” , Deped’s NCM will cover four categories of children’s rights including survival
rights, development rights, participation rights, and protection rights for the whole month of
November.

Based on the suggested activities in conducting a celebration, Sampa-Pacifico Integrated School


launched e said celebration during the Flag Raising Ceremony through a rationale by Ms. Alyssa
Mae G. Cabrera and Mr. Raphy A. Briones, SSG Advisers of JHS department. They encouraged
all teachers to integrate the celebration’s theme and nature in their respective lessons.

All throughout the month of November, there were various activities done for the celebration.
Here are the activities:
a. The students and teachers watched NCM facebook live stream kick-off.
b. A special lesson about the Children’s Rights was discussed and integrated on their
respective classes.
c. A Palarong Pinoy Team Building activity for JHS department were conducted from three
to five in the afternoon.

 Volleyball

The Supreme Student Government helped in facilitating the said activities. No classes were
disturbed and at the same time, the students enjoyed the celebration. Indeed, a very
memorable one. Collectively, the program and the celebration is both educational and fun-filled
for the students.
