II. Presentation
 Divisibility rule – are set of general rules that are often used to determine
whether or not a number is evenly divisible by another number.
 Divisible – means can be divided without reminder

 Divisibility Rule for 2


- All even numbers are divisible by 2.
Even numbers end in 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8
Example: 154 72 16 90 236

 Divisibility Rule for 5


- A number is divisible by 5 if the last digit of the number is 0 or 5
Example: 75 40 310 125
 Divisibility Rule for 10
- A number is divisible by 10 if the last digit is 0.
Example: 60 230 710 59

 Factors – is any of the numbers used in multiplication to form a product


Example: 3x4 = 12
12 is the product
3 and 4 are factors of 12
 Common Factors – a factors that two or numbers have in common

III. Generalization

Recall all the divisibility rules.


For 2: All numbers ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 are divisible by 2.
For 5: All numbers ending in 0 or 5
For 10: All numbers ending in 0

IV. Assessment
