    What do you think will happen if the Confucian value and belief of
    “farmers should remain farmers and practice the ethics of farming” is still being
    practiced today? Explain

    Positive Effects: Confucianism developed social values, systems, and universal


    ideals by expanding on an old religious basis. If its values were being practiced
    today, its positive effects would be: respect for parents, loyalty to the
    government, keeping one's standing in the society, preserving the natural
    environment, maintaining peace, and promoting international relations.

    Negative Effects: There are also negative sides if it is still practiced: the belief of
    being conservative, the social roles and its strict adherence. The practice of
    being conservative provides social divisions.
