2. Introduction
The laser radiation from the XTM Series system is invisible. Always use a power meter to check
the output power from a fiber connector or port in the system.
Do not use any magnifying equipment to examine a fiber or optical connector. Use of optical
equipment will increase the hazard level. Authorized personnel can use approved fiber inspection
microscopes, when inspecting connectors, after it has been determined that no optical power is
present at the connector.
When the system is in use the output from any connector or fiber that is exposed by accident in
the system will have a hazard level of class 1M according to IEC 60825-1 and IEC 60825-2.
Always observe local regulations and working practices.
List of test equipment including Make/Model no., validity of calibration date and Calibration
certificates shall be enclosed with the SAT reports.
The equipment shall be installed as per actual configuration in accordance with the approved
drawings and then be tested.
3. Physical Inspection
3.1 Purpose
To identify correctly given equipment/cards and verify the labeling (Part and serial number,
month/year of manufacture, revision level) for equipment/cards, Equipment Rack, signal
cabling and power distribution and verification of inventory as per the approved BoQ.
a. Please refer to the Site Specific Document and accordingly record observations
b. Conformance to a drawing as per “configuration drawing” of the equipment as installed
in the rack below.
