DAILY TASK#1

EDUC 101

Think or research about one learning principle suited for a child then one learning principle suited for an
adult.

Child:

Children are curious and eager to learn. They have an inherent desire to make sense of themselves, the
world and others. Children are active participants in their environment and learn through various stimuli
and with all of their senses from the first day on.

For example, playing is important for developing self-regulation and promoting language, cognition, and
social competence. You can use multisensory instruction as a way of teaching that engages more than
one sense at a time. A kid might enjoy the class when a teacher helps them learn information through
the use of their touch, movement, sight and hearing senses. I think it will make the class more
enjoyable.

Adult:

The seven principles of adult learning include self-direction, transformation, experience, mentorship,
mental orientation, motivation, and readiness to learn. Adult learning theories can positively impact
adult learning experiences both in the classroom and on the job.

For example, if you want to teach an adult learner, you must:

1. Keep your lessons relevant

2. Tell stories as you’re teaching
3. Break up the information to avoid cognitive overload
4. Get everyone involved
5. Keep them engaged
6. Focus on your learners’ life experience
7. Be mindful of different learning styles
8. Make your material visually stimulating
9. Let them explore on their own
10. Encourage questions and discussion
