DAILY TASK #2
Social interaction plays an important role in learning. Interacting with other people has proven to be
quite effective in assisting the learner to organize their thoughts, reflect on their understanding, and find
gaps in their reasoning.
The term “learning styles” speaks to the understanding that every student learns differently. Technically,
an individual's learning style refers to the preferential way in which the student absorbs, processes,
comprehends and retains information.
Traditionally, there are three modes of learning: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Although most people
learn through a combination of each, most people also have a particular mode that naturally suits them.
An example of meaningful learning is to understand how multiple mathematical formulae can be
derived from a single formula, rather than memorizing all of them by rote.
4. Learning is developmental.
Learning is concerned with the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Development is the
broadening and deepening of knowledge in line with one's development goals. Identifying learning and
development (L&D) needs starts with knowing the organisation's current and future capability needs,
and then assessing existing levels of skills, attitudes and knowledge. This assessment can use formal and
informal methods.
