The UAE population by emirates

The population of the UAE is over 9 million people. We will look at how the population is
distributed across the seven emirates.

Over 70% of the population of the UAE live in two emirates, Abu Dhabi and
1 ____________________. Dubai has a population of 33.2 million people. Abu Dhabi’s

population is only slightly less at 2 ____________________ million people.

The next most populous emirate is 3 ____________________ with 1.51 million people. This is
4 ____________________ of the UAE’s population. This means almost 87% of the population

live in either Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah.

The rest of the population is distributed across the four remaining emirates. Ajman, Ras al-
Khaimah and Fujairah each contain between 2.7% – 5.8% of the population.
5 ____________________ has the smallest population at 0.08 million people. This is less than

1% of the population of the UAE.

To conclude, the population of the UAE is not distributed evenly across the seven
emirates. The population living in each emirate varies significantly.
