I HAD A

DREAM...

ARTWORK 2

In the first image, I had a dream that I was

lying in a bed with a horrible guy approaching
me, which I believe was Satan. It was all a
nightmare. I also had a dream that I was
drowning in the middle of the sea with no one
to save me. I too had dreams about escaping
from a dog. I was likewise dreaming about
watching the sunset next to a dead tree. We
can notice how black the mountain is in the
backdrop image. It was as though I was
walking through the dark and found the door.
If I were given the opportunity to post in on the
exhibit or any art galleries, it would provide them
with some moral in our lives. In our dreams, we
escape into a true reality. Do not allow your past
experience to define you. Don't allow your
fantasies dictate your reality. Don't let your
anxieties prevent you from achieving success and
happiness. If you adopt this mindset, nothing
under your personal control will go wrong in your
life. The moral story is to let your dreams be
dreams
and your life be real. Things will happen; your
mind will play tricks on you a few times. But, in
the end, you must remain in the actual world.
Learn from your sights and your experiences. They
will teach you the most valuable lessons in life.

ARTWORK 3

As the font style for my logo, I chose

the Cardo font because it is visually

appealing.

The letter A curve in a paint brush,

which is "ART," symbolized the

business I'll start, and the letter P, which

is the name of the entrepreneur, which

is "Patricia."

I chose the circular arc as part of

my logo because it stands out when

people see it on any social media

platform or in my studio.

As the background color for my logo,

I chose pink violet. Pink violet

reminds me of something luxurious

or wealthy.

Philippine
MYTHOLOGICAL CREATURES
by PATRICIA CAPUNPON

The first Philippine Mythological creatures that I chose was the "manananggal" which is the

half body and we can see it in the sky since it's flying. We all familiar with this creature. The

second one was the "tiktik", the one who have a long tongue. According to our grandmother

or grandfather story, tiktik is the one who always in the roof of our house and some of the

pregnant mother scared if they hear a sound that is familiar to them because they are afraid

that their baby might be taken from them. The third one was Oryol. Oryol was said to be a

beautiful maiden whose lower body was that of a serpent. She possessed in human beauty

and strength, and her voice could mesmerize men, women, and even animals. Magindara
was the fourth one that I chose. In some stories, the Magindara are benevolent guardians of

sailors and fishermen, but in others they are the “aswang ng dagat”, vicious monsters who

use their beauty and voice to lure men and devour them. The Tikbalang is a creature of

Philippine folklore said to lurk in the mountains and rainforests of the Philippines. In some

myth, Tikbalang scare travelers, lead them astray and play tricks on them such as making

them return to an arbitrary path no matter how far they go or turn. This is counteracted by

wearing one's shirt inside out. Most of us believes that these kind of creatures are real but

we can't say that this is real and this is not real. We can all do is to respect the opinion of

others regard to this kind of creatures.

ABOUT ME

I'm Patricia Kyla Capunpon. 19 years of age. I live in Barangay

Lingga, City of Calamba in the province of Laguna. It's not a big
place but it somehow exists on the map. Looks like an
elementary student or junior high school but I am second year
college, taking Bachelor in Elementary Education. As an
beginner artist, I would say that I am not fully professional like
them. I paint whenever I have free time and sometimes, when I
feel like the world hates me. I relieved my stress through
painting. Even though it is not pleasing in the eyes of others. In
the almost one semester of the Art Appreciation, under the
supervision of Sir Bernard Catam, I've learned a lot of things
from him. From how to appreciate our own artwork to
appreciate the art and the artist. It is not all about focusing on
the arts but also the people behind the artworks. Even if I don't
understand the abstract piece, the colors displayed can either
excite my emotions or bring me serenity and peace. My
experiences have helped me have a positive view on art
because they have been fun experiences. For me, composing
or performing has been a lot of fun.
