AIR LAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2023

Welcome to the 14th Leiden Sarin International Air Law Moot Court Competition, 2023.

We are eagerly waiting to welcome you to Chandigarh. Please see below for some basic yet
vital information about the AIL – Sarin National Rounds of the Leiden Sarin International Air
Law Moot Court Competition 2023 (the “National Rounds”) which are scheduled to be held
on the 25th March 2023 at the Army Institute of Law, Sector 68, Mohali.

SUBMISSION OF MEMORIALS:

The deadline for submission of Memorials is 15th February 2023.

On the 15th February 2023 you must:

1. Send us .pdf versions of your memorials – as per instructions below; and

2. Send us a scanned copy of your courier receipt proving that you have sent the hard
copies of the memorials to the Sarin Memorial Legal Aid Foundation in Chandigarh.
At this stage, you do not need to send any hard copies to Leiden University.

IMPORTANT: You must send us five copies of the applicant memorials and five copies of the
respondent memorials (total ten memorials).

The soft copies, i.e. the .pdf's must be sent to mootcourt@sarins.org as well as
airlawmootcourt@law.leidenuniv.nl . Please ensure that your email containing the memorials
clearly states in the subject field "Memorial Submission | Team No. _ ".

Do bear in mind that we will be comparing the memorials submitted by you (by the deadline)
with any later versions received by us and any alteration whatsoever will result in
disqualification. Also, please ensure that the hard copies of the memorials reach us on time
before the event (the National Rounds). We have, in the past found that some courier
companies take a long time for delivery of memorials, therefore we recommend using Blue
Dart or any other suitable courier company.

The National Rounds will be held on Saturday, 25th March 2023 at the Army Institute of Law,
Sector 68, Mohali. The top teams will qualify for the International Rounds which are scheduled
to be held at Leiden University, the Netherlands from 12th to 14th May 2023. Once your team
qualifies, we will return your memorials to you for further action. If you qualify, you must then
transfer the registration amount to us, more details on this, will follow if you qualify.

TEAM REGISTRATION FORM:

You are immediately requested to complete the Team Registration Form attached with this
email and send it to us on mootcourt@sarins.org ASAP in order for us to confirm your
participation in the National Rounds. This registration form is in addition to the one completed
to register for the Competition.

ACCOMMODATION / MEALS:

We will organize shared rooms for you (at our expense) in the Chandigarh tri-city area only for
two nights, i.e., the night of 24th March and 25th March 2023. Details of the accommodation
will be shared with you closer to the date of the National Rounds. No accommodation will be
provided to coaches, therefore please advise your Coach, should he or she be accompanying
you, to organise their own accommodation.

Should you have any queries re: the above or while in Chandigarh, you may contact the Moot
Court Coordinator, Mr. Vinamra Longani on the mobile number given at the end of this email.
Should he not be available, you may contact Mr. Ritesh Aggarwal on the number provided.

Please make sure that you do not take more than your entitlement at the accommodation as
you will be charged for anything more than the allotted rooms. Also, we work completely
according to the Honour system, therefore, we will NOT have anyone from the Organisation
checking. Please be honest! Also, we are sorry, but we cannot provide you with more
accommodation than the two nights.

The following meals will be provided to you free of cost:

1. Dinner on 24th March 2023;

2. Breakfast from 7AM to 8AM on 25th March 2023;
3. Lunch on 25th March 2023 (to be provided at the Army Institute of Law, Mohali), and
4. Dinner on 25th March 2023.

Please do make sure that you avail of the meal facilities which are being provided to you.
Those who do not eat the meals shall be disqualified .

TRANSPORTATION:

You will have to make your own way from the Airport or Railway Station in Chandigarh to the
accommodation provided on your arrival. However, we will organise cars for your transport
from the accommodation provided to the Army Institute of Law, Mohali on the date of the
national rounds, i.e., 25th March 2023.

Apart from that, please feel free to use Uber and Ola during you stay in Chandigarh, all work
reasonably well.

NOTE: You will not have a choice of which car you can take to reach the venue of the National
Rounds, cars will be boarded according to team numbers, i.e., first to last.

OPPOSITION MEMORIALS:

We will email you your opponent’s memorials on the night 24th March 2023.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE DATES:

Please send us an email with the subject "Team XX | Arrival and Departure Details" wherein
you state the date, time and method of arrival and departure into / from Chandigarh by 15th
March 2023. This will help us track you in case of any problems.

for building your brand. Please harness the power of social media and use these networks to
post about your preparation and participation at the event using the hashtag #airlawmoot.
