1 Development and Background

Microbial threats from nature: Pyococcus and Bacillus, Enteric

pathogen, Skin pathogen, Fungi and Mycotoxin, Viruses, etc.

The outer structure of bacteria: the cell wall components include

peptidoglycan, phospholipic acid, lipoprotein, and
lipopolysac7309ride, etc. The cell membrane is an elastic semi-
permeable membrane composed of phospholipid bilayer and
immobilized protein.
1 Development and Background

Coronavirus (an enveloped virus)

Structure of viruses: some viruses have an outer envelope, which
is mainly derived from host cells, but also embedded with
proteins, mainly composed of proteins, lipids and
polysaccharides. The inner layer is nucleocapsid, which is
composed of shell pellet units and arranged regularly. The main
components are capsid protein and genetic material.

Envelope viruses: HIV, EB virus, Herpes zoster virus, etc.

Envelopeless viruses: Poliovirus, Coxsackie virus, Echo virus, etc.
1 Development and Background

Bacterial cell walls and viral envelope have very similar composition, high concentration of
alcohols can directly inactivate bacteria and viruses, and a low concentration of alcohols will
also destroy the spatial structure of proteins and their derivatives to a certain extent, these
include specific protein derivatives on the surface of the virus, which can not kill the virus
directly, but effectively destroy the way of virus invasion.

 SpecKare® 7309 has a very strong ability to chelate metal ions, it can block the way for microorganisms to obtain metal
ions. At the same time, the lipophilicity of the alkane chain helps to break through the microbial membrane, and
compared with other acid products,SpecKare® 7309 is suitable for the pH range of 5.0~6.5, consistent with the pH of
the skin。
 As a natural plant extract, the fruit extract of CITRUS PARADISI, rich in flavonoids, not only has anti-inflammatory and
antioxidant effects, but also destroys the integrity of plasma membrane by inhibiting the activity of microbial enzymes,
After the action of grapefruit fruit extract, the cell membrane was
killing a variety of bacteria and viruses, thus playing a role of multiple regulation and synergism in the formula. It is safe damaged and the cytoplasm flowed out
and non-toxic to human body. Environmentally friendly and biodegradable. Good compatibility, can be compatible with
other natural medicine, and also has synergistic effect.
 As a kind of auxiliary sterilizing agent , diol solvent is very helpful to reduce the surface tension of the system and even
the microbial cell membrane, so as to facilitate the penetration of the microbial membrane.
1 Development and Background

Viral infection pathways:

• The virus needs receptors to enter the host cell to complete
its replication
• The coronavirus receptor is angiotensin-converting enzyme

• The human body's mucosal cells (mouth, nose, etc.) are
distributed with the coronavirus receptor - angiotensin-
converting enzyme Ⅱ

Commercially available products:

• Alcohol and chlorinated products in contact with mucosal
cells can cause intense irritation and even tingling.
Meanwhile, the ethanol concentration is often less than 75%
in lots of Gel Sanitizer, dose it really work?
• Severe cases include allergic reactions
• Not suitable for daily skin contact and sterilization
• Surfactants and antioxidants claim to be antibacterial and
have weak bacteriostatic properties
• Single component, not broad spectrum, easy to develop drug
resistance

Customer needs: a very gentle, suitable for daily skin care,

efficient, broad spectrum, compound collaboration, a safe
sterilization product !

4 Application of SpecGuardTM GCPH

Compatibility:
SpecGuardTM GCPH is water-soluble, and is compatible with most cosmetic materials and has good solubility in water and emulsion
systems. It can be cold matched and not easy to separate out at low temperature.

Application:
SpecGuardTM GCPH can be used in a variety of systems: aqueous system, emulsion system, anhydrous formulation and surfactant
system. For example: hand sanitizer, cleaning lotion, wipes, deodorant spray, hand cream, etc.

Usage:
SpecGuardTM GCPH can be added at high and low temperature under normal cosmetic processing technology, without affecting its
bactericidal efficiency. However, it contains natural active ingredient, so it is necessary to avoid prolonged high temperature.

Dosage:
1.2~5.0%; Water-based formula、neutral and partial acid conditions, dosage can be reduced as appropriate. If rich in polymer, oil or
alkaline, dosage should be increased.
