Training Content –

Module 1: Introduction to PowerBI

1. Overview of PowerBI and its features


2. Setting up PowerBI Desktop
3. Tour of the PowerBI interface, understanding the different components such as the
report canvas, field list, and visualization pane
4. Creating a basic bar chart and understanding the different fields, such as axis and
values

Module 2: Importing and Cleaning Data

1. Importing data from various sources such as Excel, CSV, and SQL Server
2. Using Power Query to clean and transform data. Explaining the different options such
as filtering, renaming columns, and splitting columns
3. Understanding data types and data modeling
4. Creating relationships between tables, learning about active and inactive
relationships, and understanding the different types of relationships such as one-to-
one, one-to-many and many-to-many

Module 3: Creating Visualizations and Reports

1. Creating basic visualizations (bar charts, line charts, pie charts, etc.)
2. Creating tables and matrices
3. Understanding the different visualization types and when to use them
4. Designing and formatting reports, understanding the different properties such as
background color, font size, and adding images
5. Creating calculated columns and measures
6. Using data groups and sorting, learning about the different sorting options
Module 4: Publishing and Sharing Reports

1. Exporting and publishing reports


2. Sharing reports with others, understanding the different sharing options and
permissions

Module 5: DAX Basics

1. Understanding DAX and its syntax
