It is known that peer pressure plays an important role in a child’s development, however that might be.

With quite unpredictable outcomes, peer pressure can have positive or negative effects on teenager’s
lives.

There are vary ways that peer pressure can essentially ruin a kid’s mentality, or even physical state.
According to a recent survey, approximately half of the participants reported that they feel pressured
into drinking alcohol, almost a third of them, are also pressured into stealing, and a fifth of them feel
the need to bully others, all because of peer pressure. Arguably, there are many prospects that indicate
that peer pressure does not influence positively adolescents.

However, there are, of course, bright sides of said pressure. One of which being, that over two thirds of
youngsters participate in various social groups with their peers on social media, exchanging their
opinions on different subjects. This, obviously, is greatly beneficial to teenagers, who regularly have
problems with their life. They can seek help and guidance or ask for advise on whatever topic is
relevant to them, as well as respond to their peers with solutions and suggestions. As a psychologist
said peer pressure is not always a bad thing, depending with your friends. For example, if you choose
to befriend someone with academic goals and purposes, then undoubtedly, you will also get influenced
to try harder in your life. On the contrary, if your friends are behaving irresponsibly and reckless, then
you will probably follow the same path in life with them.

In conclusion, the benefits of peer pressure outweigh the disadvantages. Although, peer pressure as a
concept can have positive results the advantages of peer pressure are relevant, they mostly depend on
whether you join the right peer groups, and if they positively influence you.
