BayuDarsan —
INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI SEPULUH NOPEMBER
About
BayuDarsan is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) research division of
the Bayucaraka ITS team, a part of the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh
Nopember (ITS) robotics student club. This division focuses on fixed
wing UAV research development and competition, such as TUBITAK
International UAV Competition. Recently created in 2022, this team
conducts its research with five members.
Bayu Darsan is derived from one of the gods in Hindu mythology.
Bayu is derived from the Sanskrit word "Vayu", which means “wind! In
Hinduism, "Vayu" is the god of wind. On the other hand, Darsan is

Competitions
TUBITAK International UAV Competition
TUBITAK UAV Research, under the auspices of the Turkish government, organized an
international-scale UAV competition in which 40 teams from 30 countries competed. This
competition has been running since 2016, to raise youth awareness about unmanned aerial
vehicles (UAVs) and the role of UAV development in assisting humans in emergencies such as fires
and accidents.
FIRA AIR
Federation of International Robot-Soccer Association (FIRA) is an annual international robot
competition held in various countries, with one of its categories committed to UAV development
called FIRA AIR. One of the competitions is an autonomous race, which prompted each team to
create an automatic agile navigation system for UAVs that can compete with human pilots on a 3D
race track.
Kontes Robot Terbang Indonesia (KRTI)
KRTI (Indonesian Flying Robot Contest) is a UAV competition organized by the Indonesian Ministry
of Research, Technology, and Higher Education. This competition is intended for high school
students, university students, and the general public from all parts of Indonesia. The goal of KRTI
is for Indonesia to be able to develop its own unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
