Abstract

Due to the rising of air pollution in Dhaka and nearby cities, demands of air purifier is increasing in the both consumer as well as
industrial market. Humidity is an important term especially in textile industries, from product manufacturing to delivery maintaining a
standard humidity is important to maintain quality of the products. In our country the industries have a tendency of adding various
impurities such as dust and dirt in the air. Moreover the condition of the temperature maintenance is not good enough in most of the
medium or small industries since the air conditioning and purifying system available are very costly and require higher level of
maintenance which is very difficult. We aimed to understand the need of pure air and standard humidity in both consumers and
industrial field and we suggest a design of a product which will purify the air and maintain standard humidity in the room. We intend
to make this system more affordable and easily maintainable for the general people. The product will also help to provide comfort to
the human body by maintaining humidity.

1. Keywords

Purifier, humidity, pollution.

2. Introduction

The industrial section of our country have a problem of rising temperature and humidity in the industry. In industry, there are so many
machines which make the environment of the industries hot, Also these machines produce pollute air which is harmful for the workers
and employee. Moreover, in industry it is impossible to use air conditioner to produce cool air in the industry. Maximum industry
doesn’t contain the process to remove hot air from the industries so that it’s quite impossible to maintain proper humidity. To solve all
of this problem we made a product which is called “Air Purifier & Humidifier”. It will supply pure air and remove hot air from the
industries. Also it will supply cool air so that the workers and employee will feel comfortable. It will also maintain the proper
humidity in the industries.

2.1 The Novelty of the Product

User-friendly, optimized operation, ergonomic design, less maintenance, and low-cost

2.2 Application of the Product

This product would be designed to be an air purifier and humidifier. The main function of this product is to purify the air from the dust
and dirt. The purification process could help to make the environment of a room clean and also free from germs and bacterias that are
floating in air. In addition to that, this product is also proposed to be worked as a humidifier. That means it can help controlling the
humidity of the air. It can function as a suction for air and thus it can take the moisture out of the air and reduce the humidity of the
air.

Additional features can also be added if aroma is used to provide good odour in the air. This system has a mosquito killer machine
added to the side of it which is connected to the main line of the system. This could be applied to remove mosquitoes from the room.
3. Literature Review

The air purifier unit is an air conditioning equipment that provides fresh air. It is an efficient, energy-saving, and environmentally-
friendly all-round air purification system. It has a wide range of installation and application. The working principle is to extract fresh
air from the outdoors after dust removal, humidification (or dehumidification), cooling etc. and then send it to the room through a fan,
and replace the original indoor air when it enters the indoor space.

The main function of the air purifier is to provide fresh air and constant humidity for the air-conditioned area. The fresh air system is
based on the use of special equipment on one side of a The implementation plan is to use water to purify air from the room and
discharge it by a fan, forcing a fresh air flow field to be formed in the system. While supplying air, the air entering the room is filtered,
disinfected, humidified (or dehumidified).

The humidifier works to take moisture from the air, making it drier or wetter, depending on the environment. They're helpful in
climates that have very high humidity, such as our country because they can help prevent mold growth and dust mites . The
Humidifier pulls air into the system and control the moisture of the air.

This product has a system that can also be used to provide a good odour to the environment by using a good odour providing material
on the inside of the system. The system can work to provide the freshened air with the odour from this system.

The system also has a mosquito killer added to the side. This also helps to clean the room from mosquitoes and maintain a very good
environment for home and workplace. It could be used to prevent various diseases like dengue fever.

4 Data collection & Customer survey

A Pareto Chart is a graph that shows the frequency of flaws and their overall effect. Pareto charts may be used to identify the
weaknesses that need to be fixed first in order to see the biggest overall improvement. From the chart below, we can see that by
ensuring commercial support, adding some features like display, free motion in all directions, automatic loading system, remote
controlling, etc. and designing the SIMS for indoor environments mostly, we can fulfill the customers’ satisfaction up to 76%

5. Methodology

5.1 Quality Function Deployment

Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is a structured approach to defining customer needs or requirements and translating them into
specific plans to produce products to meet those needs. The “voice of the customer” is the term to describe these stated and unstated
customer needs or requirements. The voice of the customer is captured in a variety of ways: direct discussion or interviews, surveys,
focus groups, customer specifications, observation, warranty data, field reports, etc. This understanding of the customer needs is then
summarized in a product planning matrix or “house of quality”. These matrices are used to translate higher level “what’s” or needs
into lower level “how’s” - product requirements or technical characteristics to satisfy these needs.
In the previous report, we determined customer requirement from survey. In this report we shall construct House of Quality, where
customer requirements are related with technical features and determine the relative importance of these features.
The House of Quality for our Automated Guided Vehicle is given below:

5.2 Functional Decomposition of the product
A typical visual depiction of the many process components and their hierarchical links to one another is a functional decomposition
diagram. Given below is a functional decomposition diagram for the Smart Inventory management system, which shows both the
primary function or task and the crucial auxiliary functions or tasks that must also be done in order to finish the primary function or
work.

5.3 Black box

A black box model is one that takes input and output while hiding any details on how it operates within. Below, in the Smart inventory
management's "black box," we can observe how the SIMS collects energy and other pieces of information in order to create outcom

5.4 Cluster Diagram
Through information arrangement, a cluster diagram facilitates the idea generation process. The smart inventory management cluster
diagram provides an overview of how energy and signal move through the whole system before being converted to the final output.

6. Design guidelines

Applied guidelines to Enhance maintainability

1. Weighted parts are avoided in air purifier and humidifier & light components are used for easy maintainability.
2. Maintenance is easier for the air purifier and humidifier because of using easily removable parts. Hence the maintenance time
is also shortened.
3. Eliminated unnecessary parts such as wires, differently shaped joining parts, etc. to achieve reliability.
4. The parts used in air purifier and humidifier are made easily replaceable & recyclable by using proper design. Thus, it will
achieve more reliability.

7. Discussion & Result

Air Purifier and Humidifier is suitable for every industry. This product is helpful for controlling the temperature and humidity of a
room, specially in the industrial section. The only disadvantage of this product is that the initial setup cost is high. But after the setup it
will be much beneficial. The setup and maintenance will depend on how big the company is . We can get the temperature and
humidity of the room under control by using the Air Purifier and Humidifier. This will provide comfortable working condition for the
workers. The investment cost will be in 3 months. But in a long term scenario this product will help to increase the efficiency of
production in the industry. So, it will be a very good investment for the industry which will have very good effect. This product helps
to make the environment of the factory room suitable and comfortable for getting a proper working condition and helps to increase
production of the industry.

8. Cost analysis & Breakeven Analysis

Breakeven analysis is done to find out after how many sales the company will have profit. Here,

variable cost $265.00 per unit

Fixed cost $871.00

expected sales 50 unit

price $299.00 per unit

total revenue $14950.00

Total variable cost $14121.00

Profit $829

Break-even point will be found after selling 25 units
