A LETTER TO MY FUTURE SELF

Dear Future Self,

Hi there me! It’s me from 10 years ago. First of all I hope you are doing okay and well, is life
treating you all right? Well I hope so because I know how life can be a real jerk. I am writing you this
letter to remind you who you were and how you became to be that guy right now. By the I am a fourth
year student now, currently battling my way out of college, and dealing with tons of school stuff which I
know you know very well that it is kind of mind boggling. But these struggles did not become a
hindrance for you, instead it made you that person you are. And hey I have the best girlfriend ever, I
really do hope to know that you married her because you and I know that we have been dreaming about
her since the 7th grade, and right now for me she is my number 1 fan and friend, I can always rely on her
whenever I have problems, and I love her very much. I really do hope that she is still that person with
you right now but the only difference is she is not your girlfriend anymore, she is your wife. Please take
care of her for the rest of your days because for me I know I want to marry her and I will take care of her
always. And don’t forget she and I want kids, actually 2 of them an elder brother and a younger sister
and you know why it sis that specific. And hey don’t forget about your friends from college that helped
you okay? I hope you still hang out together. And the most important thing I want to include in this
letter is your family, right now I am the happiest because of how lucky I am to have them, they love me
so much and I love them so much. They are your safe haven, not just with my physical but also my
emotional aspect. Right now that I am almost done with school, all I can think about is how much I want
to give them the best life they could ever get, I want them to be carefree and I want them to be happy
because soon it is my turn to take care of them. You are doing well with them yeah? Treat them to all
sorts of things, like spontaneous family dinners, vacations, and most of all the convenience store that
mama has always wanted, and for papa be his partner with his company okay? I know I am scared right
now for my future job, but I do know that papa will guide me and help me grow. For my siblings, I want
to also make it up to them when I get my first job, because they have sacrificed so much for me. For
Brian, we well do the “joyride” thing soon, and my sister I know you’re going to be the best aunt for my
future kids. I have so much planned for my life, and I will do my best to make them all come true. And as
for you, I know that you are always scared to try new things, but guess what so am I. So don’t ever
forget that what you are 10 years ago is the very Neil you are right now, I may have changed, but for the
better. And I wish you nothing but good luck and a good life. Hope to see you very soon future me!
