Adhere to safe manual handling techniques.
 Access route to be followed shall be planned
prior to start the manual handling and
ensure that there is no overhead barriers or
obstruction in the route
 Supervisor shall consider workers knowledge
and physical capabilities before assigning for
the job
 Workers shall judge the size, shape and
weight of the materials to be handled and
plan a most efficient safe method
 Never allow anyone to lift materials more
than 23Kg.Provide suitable work force
assistance when moving excessive loads
 All workers shall ensure the firm grip on the
materials to be handled
 Work area shall be cleaned from all
injury
obstructions and unwanted materials
 Only allow specific work related materials
near the work area
 Safe access shall be provided, do not take
short cuts
 Housekeeping to be done before, during and
after the work.
 Use appropriate Hand Gloves (with rating
Gloves). Be aware where hands are being
placed and assess the configuration of
materials to be lifted.
 Employees shall ensure that they have firm
grip on the object being lifted.
 Keep fingers away from pinch point area,
trapping point area and/or between two
objects.
 Rolling Objects shall be blocked or wedged.
