PRODUCT DESCRIPTION FEATURES / ADVANTAGES

Sika® ViscoCrete®-3005 is a strong water reducing
superplasticizer for concrete.
USES
Sika® ViscoCrete®-3005 allows to obtain a very strong
plastification and a good maintenance of consistency,
allied to a fast development of the mechanical
resistances.
Sika® ViscoCrete®-3005 acts on binder particles
by two main mechanisms: surface adsorption and
spatial effect. Both contribute to a very intense
dispersing effect, allowing a high reduction in
mixing water or a marked increase in workability.
The combination of various polymers makes it
possible to achieve high efficiency with any type of
cement.
It is achieved like this:

Sika® ViscoCrete®-3005 is especially suitable for the
following cases:
▪ Concrete of a class equal to or greater than C30/37,
with any consistency, in which it is intended to
obtain a large saving of cement
▪ Very plastic, fluid or even self-compacting (BAC)
concrete with improved initial strength and at a
lower cost
▪ Faster concreting in cold weather
▪ Prefabrication of structural concrete, in factory or in situ
▪ A very high level of water reduction, which can reach
20% to 30% depending on the dosage and
composition; this results in concrete with a strong
increase in mechanical resistance, high compactness
and very low permeability
▪ An intense plasticizing effect, allowing to obtain,
even with a strong reduction of water, favorable
consistencies for easy laying
▪ Good consistency maintenance, which can last
for 2 hours at 20 °C, depending on the type of
cement, initial consistency and adjuvant dosage

▪ Suitable compositions for self-compacting

concrete (BAC) in prefabrication, with good
strength development
▪ A more favorable behavior regarding retraction
and creep

TECHNICAL DATA
concreting guide Sika® ViscoCrete®-3005 allows the manufacture of quality concrete,
therefore good practice rules for the manufacture, placement and curing of
concrete must be adhered to.

APPLICATION INFORMATION
recommended dosage Depending on the intended purpose, it is recommended to start from the following dosages:

▪ Easily workable concrete: with optimized cement content: 0.4 to

0.9% of cement weight
▪ Almost vibration-free and self-compacting concrete (BAC): 1.0 to 1.4% of the cement
weight
▪ S4 or S5 slurry concrete: 1.0 to 1.6% of the cement weight
▪ If it is convenient to increase the workability, due to any difficulty of the
work in question, a redosing with Sika® ViscoCrete®-3005 can be carried
out, provided that the adjuvant is well mixed and provided that a total of
1.8 is not exceeded. %
▪ Dosages according to EN 934-2: 0.6 to 0.8% of the cement weight

Compatibility Sika® ViscoCrete®-3005 can be combined with the following products:

▪ Sika®IronGard®901
▪ Sika®Pump
▪ Sika®Rapid 1
▪ Sikacrete®

It is always recommended to carry out previous tests.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS COMMENTS

DISPENSER
Prepare the concrete with approx.two/3of the foreseen
water and add Sika® ViscoCrete®-3005 mixing approx.
1 minute/m3; add water until the desired consistency –
maximum use of the adjuvant and control of the water/
binder ratio. If the process is not feasible, add the
product to the specified mixing water and mix the
concrete until obtaining a homogeneous mixture. Do
not add Sika® ViscoCrete®-3005 to dry components
(reduced effectiveness).
In the case of redosing on site: slight dilution of
Sika® ViscoCrete®-3005 to reduce its viscosity and
facilitate incorporation. “Pull” the concrete above
and slowly add the admixture, with the drum
rotating rapidly; if necessary, reverse the direction
of rotation to help homogenize. Minimum mixing
time: 3 minutes.
▪ It is recommended to carry out previous tests to
find the optimal dosage of Sika®
ViscoCrete®-3005 and whenever the concrete
components or the composition itself are changed
▪ In severe frost, the adjuvant may freeze, but
once thawed slowly, carefully shaken and
homogeneity checked, it can be used again
