Full-remote instructor training plan for

IT Essentials
Version: ITE 7.0
Instructor to teach the instructor training class:
Instructor Trainers qualified to teach IT Essentials instructor training and who have experience teaching remotely

Timeframe:
Minimum of 4 weeks (instructor-led class including independent study and online teaching); Instructor candidates completing
this course in 4 weeks will spend 18 hours per week to complete this course.

How to deliver:
• Instructor Trainer will have instructor candidates read all chapters and take all chapter exams for IT Essentials.
• Instructor candidates will use Lab PC equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer for the lab activities.
• Instructor Trainers will create a WebEx Teams (or similar collaboration tool) group and add instructor candidates to the
group. WebEx Teams will be used for chat discussions between Instructor Trainers and instructor candidates. Instructor
Trainers will answer questions from the instructor candidates in the WebEx Teams group at least once a day.
• Instructor Trainers will ensure that chapter exams remain active every day during the instructor training.
• Instructor Trainers will have at least three online tutoring sessions weekly using WebEx. In these sessions the Instructor
Trainer will explain the key points of the course, answer questions and analyze the chapter exams’ results.
• Instructor candidates will either join each tutoring session or watch each session recording.
• The last week of the four weeks is for the instructors to prepare to take the final exam and SBA.
• As the instructor candidate in this course is likely a new NetAcad instructor, Instructor Trainers should deliver a Webex
session to explain and demonstrate how an instructor uses the Netacad.com platform, such as creating a class,
enrolling students and more.

Final exam and Skills Based Assessment (SBA):


Instructor Trainers will proctor the final exams (both the multiple-choice final exam and the final skills exam) by WebEx session.
Instructor Trainers will provide the schedule for these WebEx sessions to the Technical Manager. A Technical Manager may join
the session to check whether the person is cheating. Instructor Trainers should record these sessions in their entirety.

Passing scores:
• The passing scores for the final exam and the SBA are each 70% or higher.
• If instructor candidate scores less than 70% on the first attempt of the final exam or the SBA, they have the opportunity
to retake the exam within one week and the passing score of second attempt is 80% or higher for each exam.

Introduction to Networks (ITN)
Version: CCNA 7.0: ITN
Instructor to teach the instructor training class:

• The last week of the four weeks is for the instructors to prepare to take the final exam and SBA.
• As the instructor candidate in this course is likely a new NetAcad instructor, Instructor Trainers should deliver a Webex
session to explain and demonstrate how an instructor uses the Netacad.com platform, such as creating a class,
enrolling students and more.
