Legend Story : Roro Jonggrang

It is said that Prince Bandung Bondowoso attacked Prabu Boko's palace in the Prambanan area. The
attack was won by Prince Bandung Bondowoso. Prabu Boko is the father of Roro Jonggrang who died on
the battlefield.

When he met Roro Jonggrang, Prince Bandung Bondowoso was captivated and wanted to ask for her
hand. However, Roro Jonggrang gave conditions that were not easy, namely to build a well named
Jalatunda and build a thousand temples overnight.

Prince Bandung Bondowoso agreed to these conditions. First, he managed to build the Jalatunda well.
Second, Prince Bandung Bondowoso asked for the help of a genie to complete a thousand temples.

With Roro Jonggrang's tactics, the construction of a thousand temples failed. Only 999 temples were
successfully built.

in the end, Prince Bandung Bondowoso was angry and cursed Roro Jonggrang to become the
thousandth statue.
