ANTHROPOMETRIC

 In scientific study, the term "anthropometric" refers to the evaluation of human body
dimensions and measures, primarily on a comparative basis.
 In architecture, it refers to the measurement of the human body and human motion
that is sufficiently matched to the design of the building.
 Anthropometric measurement is an asset in optimizing the structure's design. Instead
of requiring individuals to adapt to structures, it enables designers like architects to
customize buildings to fit specific individuals.
 Anthropometric is based on the idea that building design must be proportionate to the
dimensions of the human body and human motion.
 Anthropometric falls into two main strands that are:
Static Measurement
 the measurement of body sizes at rest
Functional Measurement

 the measurement of the body’s ability to complete tasks, reaching,

moving, interacting with spaces

ERGONOMICS

 It refers to the scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of human-

system interactions as well as the profession concerned with designing, like
architecture and interior design, in order to improve human well-being and overall
system efficiency.
 Ergonomics is concerned with ensuring a proper fit between people and the
objects with which they interact. This could include the items they use or the
surroundings in which they live.
 Ergonomics seeks to improve comfort while boosting productivity and also
considers the requirement for movement throughout the day.
 The three basic areas of ergonomics are physical, cognitive, and organizational,
according to the International Ergonomics Association.

DIFFERENCE OF ARTHROPOMETRIC AND ERGONOMIC

 Anthropometrics is the study of the human body and its movement,

particularly in terms of measurements, whereas ergonomics is the
scientific field that focuses on creating goods and surroundings that are
appropriate for the people who use them.
