A. Readings
All movements including during leisure time, for transport to get to and from places, or as
part of a person’s work is referred to as physical activity. According to World Health Organization
(WHO) physical activity is any bodily movement produced by skeletal muscles that requires
energy expenditure. Both moderate- and vigorous-intensity physical activity improve health.
WHO recommends that an adult should have 150 minutes of moderate intensity
exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous physical activity per week plus 2 or more days of
muscle strengthening exercise. But how do we do it especially this time of the pandemic?

B. Exercises
Directions: Make a table of your daily activities from the moment you wake up until you go to
sleep. Indicate the number of minutes of each activity. Example is shown below. Answer the

Exercise 2: My Fitness Program
Directions: Perform the recreational activities you design in the fitness program that you created
last SLHT 1. Take a photo or a short video clip as means of verification. Arrange them in a portfolio
and submit it to your teacher.

GUIDE
For the Teacher: Advise the students to read the reading and discussion portion before
they attempt to answer the practice exercises. Going through the parts sequentially will
help them understand easily the topic.
For the Learner: Read through the self-learning home task from the first part to the last
part. Doing so, will help you understand better the topic.
For the Parent/Home Tutor: Assist your child and make sure that he/she reads the
self-learning home task from beginning to end to ensure proper understanding of the
concepts.
