• Won the Innovation Prize at MIT Solvethon 2021 for pitching an AI-chat driven learning and school operations
management system for under-resourced schools as a solution to the proposed challenge of ' How to Improve
Learning Outcomes at school'. The system was designed to measure learning outcomes and recommend
actionable insights based on the measurement
• Led a feasibility study in India and Kenya for the purpose of establishing the feasibility of SEL- integrated
assessments in both these countries.
o Set up data collections systems within schools, generated learning analytics from thecollected data and
published the same on stakeholder dashboards on google data studio.
o Established the validity and reliability of the assessments using various statistical parameters,
exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Python was used to calculate the statistical parameters
using libraries such as pandas, numpy, pingouin, sklearn, and matplotlib while R was used for factor
analysis using the ‘lavaan’ library.
o Conducted IRT (item response theory) analysis to predict the difficulty and discriminating factor of
questions in the SEL assessments through the ‘ltm’ package in R.
• Built an API, in python, to score offline academic and non-academic assessments using optical character
recognition (OCR). This API was built using the Flask Framework and has been deployed on GCP (Google Cloud
Platform) and is triggered using Telegram. This API used computer vision techniques (such as image processing and
contour approximation) through the OpenCV library to score printed assessments and update the scores in the
firestore database. Other libraries included were numpy and pyzbar. Google vision API was used to score subjective
responses to questions. This OCR API is currently being piloted in Kenyan and Indian schools.
• Used temporal algorithms such as Dynamic Bayesian Networks to model student SRL (self-regulated learning)
using discrete multimodal data. This modelling technique incorporated the temporal aspects of SRL which
considerably increased the efficiency in SRL measurement. In addition, used ML classification algorithms such as
logistic regression, random forests, and SVMs to classify students into different SRL levels. This algorithm is at a
prototype stage and is being currently tested.

• Worked in a World Bank project named NECTAR (Nagaland Enhancing Classroom Teaching and Resources)
which aims to improve and enhance quality and learning outcomes of government schools in Nagaland.
o Designed a monitoring and evaluation framework for the Nagaland school department by identifying
key performance indicators across all stakeholders (administrators, principals, teachers, and students).
Visualized the performance of the school department on these indicators using public datasets with
libraries such as matplotlib and plotly.
o Created a relational data model for the EMIS (Education management information system) for the
school department using MySQL as per the NDEAR framework recommended by the central
government.
o Created a model for decision support systems that can be built on the top of the EMIS data model

love music and have been experimenting with different genres throughout my life; classic rock in the west and the golden
age of Indian cinema are for me great treasures of music which I greatly admire
