Experimental Protocols

Experimental Procedure

General/Typical Procedure: 1.2.1 Catalysed synthesis of ester Assigned amount of alcohol, acid, benzene and
catalyst were charged into a three-necked flask equipped with a thermometer and a reflux condenser with a
water segregator. The esterification reaction was carried out at the reflux temperature until the theoretical
H2O was separated. The ester layer was separated and washed with saturated NaHCO 3 and saturated NaCl
aqueous solution, then the crude product was dried and redistilled to collect the product within certain range
of temperature according to the boiling point reported in references. The yield was calculated. Isoamyl
Acetate, yield 95.8% b.p(°C): 141-143
