5. Simple linear regression was used to test if gender is significantly predicted the monthly
wages. The fitted regression model was: Model A: Y=9.125−3.321 X . Model C:
Y=9.125. The overall regression was statistically significant (R2 =0.094], F(1, 143)
=14.798 , p <.001). It was found that gender is significantly predicted hourly wages (β
=-.306, p <.001).

6. From the significant value, since the p-value is <.05, then we can assume that the gender
is significantly predicted the hourly wages.
