Safety Precautions in Rainy (Monsoon) Season at Site

A. Electrical Safety:
1. Provide good cover / shed on all electrical equipments for protection from rain water.
2. Good body earthing and proper connectivity of earthing to be ensured to all electrical
equipments and electrical panels.
3. Don’t switch ON and operate any electrical equipments with wet cloth and wet hands.
4. To be ensured electrical cables are double insulated.
5. Opt:1 To use all electrical cables without any joints.
Opt:2 All electrical cable joints to be insulated by water proofing tapes only.
6. 30mA ELCB / RCCB to be provided to all electrical panels.
B. Driving Safety:
1. Don’t drive speedy and drive slowly.
2. Switch ON your vehicle’s headlights.
3. Maintain minimum safe distance between vehicles.
4. Drive on road only, for prevention of slips avoid off-roading.
5. Don’t drug and drive.
6. Take a break if the weather is worsens.
7. Wear your personal protective equipments for rain protection.
8. Keep with you a small first kit and an emergency kit for vehicle.
C. Height Safety:
1. Don’t do any height work during rainy.
2. To be ensured compact base for scaffolding structure and provide good baseplate for
all standards i.e vertical members.
3. Stop all height works during thunderstorms and speed wind.
4. To be ensured using of double lanyard safety belt and anchoring with lifeline.
D. Other Safety requirements at site:
1. For avoid soil sliding, shoring to be done to all trenches above depth 1.5 meter.
2. Be aware about cave-ins at site, provide barricading around excavated area for safe
movement.
3. Good housekeeping to be maintain entire site for avoid slips and trips.
4. Provide gumboots to required workmen for safe working in rainy season.
5. Frequently watch weather forecast for good planning of next day.
