Teclumos Light Glass SKD P

• Application:
Teclumos SKD light glasses combine light and sight for better
process observation in just one single unit.
They are designed for the internal illumination of pressure vessels,
laboratory mixers, filters, bio-reactors, storage tanks, stirred
vessels, pipelines, and other typically enclosed systems in safe
areas. These can supply each industry, especially the
pharmaceutical and food processing industries.

- Brilliant illumination of all kind of vessels and apparatuses
- One unit is enough for the entire observation of the system due to
a combination of sight and light.
- Lower observation cost compared to classic monitoring methods
- Easy cleaning with water without damaging electrical systems

• Operating conditions:
SKD light glasses are mounted independently of pressure or
vacuum of the apparatus to be fitted on.

• Enclosure protection degree:
When correctly fitted, Teclumos SKD light glasses
are rated IP66, meaning they are both protected
against dust ingress and water-resistant.

• Combinations:
For better fitting, Teclumos SKD light glasses combine with
screwed sight glass fitting similar to DIN 11851 or other.
• Electrical data:
Voltage: 12 / 220 V
Wattage: 2 / 3 / 20 / 35 / 50 W, depending on the type
Bulbs: Halogen / LED for sockets G4 or GU5.3
Switch: Integral “ON-OFF” push button with separate
sealing cap
Cable gland: PG7
Lamp holder: Two-pin socket

• Mounting:
- Remove the slotted cover nut from sight glass unit.
- Pass cover nut over the light glass body.
- Check that glass disc correctly seated in the fitting.
- Place cover nut with light glass over weld nozzle and tighten the
nut.
Caution:
Combination of SKD P light glass with
- Only after mechanical installation can electrical connection be

- Do not look into light (danger of impaired eyesight).
Note: If SKD light glass is to be fitted to an existing screwed sight
port, a matching slotted cover nut should be ordered with the light
glass or the current cover nut modified to suit.

 • Electrical installation:
- Select correct cable to suit operating conditions.
- Cable diameter must suit cable entry gland.
- Loosen cap screws and remove the lid.
- Pass cable through gland cable and wire to terminals.
- Tighten gland.
- Fit the cap on the body and tighten screws.

- Light glass body and cap: Made of corrosion-resistant
aluminum alloy
- Gaskets: High-quality silicone rubber
- Gland cable: IP 68 PG 7 gland cable
- Switch: Integral “ON-OFF” push button with separate
water-resistant sealing cap

Transformers and circular screwed sight glasses can be
supplied as necessary accessories.

Note: Check temperature and pressure before losing cover nut and
lifting off light glass.
I) Assembly under pressure
- Switch of the light glass.
- Unscrew cap and loosen lamp holder.
- Withdraw lamp holder complete with defective lamp.
- Insert the new bulb with protective material in the two pin socket
and push it firmly.
- Refit holder with the bulb in the light glass body.
- Fit the cap on the body and tighten screws.
II) Assembly not under pressure
- Turn the light glass off.
- Loosen the slotted cover nut and lift off the light glass from
the assembly.
- Withdraw defective lamp.
- Insert the new bulb in the two-pin socket and push it firmly.
- Remember not to touch the lamp with hand, do it with a
protective material.
- Refit and tighten light glass and cover nut.
