Activity 2: Experimental phase

 How would the body respond if it is made to perform an intense activity without warming up?
Warming up helps you prepare your body to a level that will help meet the demands of
the exercise that you will be executing. Also, Warming up may help reduce muscle
soreness and lessen your risk of injury. If warming up will not be in your workout, then
there is a potential that you will cause unnecessary stress to your muscles, particularly
your lungs and heart. And the possibility of sprained muscles, cramps, and other injuries
caused by not having warmed up to your workout.

 Is there a psychological benefit when performing a warm-up?


 Yes, there is a psychological benefit when performing a warm-up because it gives the
exerciser the readiness to familiarize and cope with the activity that will occur. A mental
warm-up also reduces stress and nervousness in the exerciser. Not only that, it will help
the exerciser be in control and be ready.

 How does a cool down phase improve recovery?


 Colling down helps your body recover and unwind from the strenuous activity you just
performed. It allows your heart rate and blood pressure to settle and slow down. In
addition, it will help you avoid cramps, injuries, and more.
