Basic Education Report 2023

Reaction

The Basic Education Report of Sarah Z. Duterte impressed me as a teacher since she was able to
address the problems we are actually experiencing in the four-sides of the classroom. She has
mentioned the learning gaps of the students such as the non-literate and non-numerates of many
learners. Despite those problems, I am happy because she was able to identify the roots of those
problems such as the poverty, the insufficient facilities, the misplaced competencies and the
workloads of the teachers. Because of this, she was able to come up with a lot of plan however, I
was a little disappointed because she did not mentioned the salary increase of the teacher but I
am still glad that she has plan on the free annual check-up and decreasing the non-teaching loads
of the teacher, changing the curriculum and focusing on the literacy and numeracy. She has
many plans in improving the basic education and I am hoping that she will implement it
effectively.

Reflection

Quality Education nowadays is truly hard to give for our learners, it is seen in the report that
there really are learning gaps because of many reasons and as much as we want to give the
quality education, we are not in control of everything that may affect the learning of the learners.
But, how we reacted on the things that is happening will definitely have a direct impact to our
learners. As a teacher we can make or we can destroy the future of the students and for me I want
to be a teacher that can change or somehow motivate the students to be successful in life. Thus, I
will give my best and do my part as a teacher.
