Assignment 1

1) Individual Assignment (60%):

Each student will select one innovative community mental health initiative. The project can be
based in any part of the world, including India. The goal is to provide examples of Community
mental health in action. The student will provide
 A brief description of the programme (Participant group, issues addressed, strategies used and
why this programme is innovative) and what we can learn from the effort.
 The students will comment upon which of the principles of community mental health have
been applied to the programme.
 The students will also write a section on what have been their key learnings of the community
mental health course and elaborate upon one learning that stood out the most for them and
application of this learning to their future work.
