*turn your horn inside out so that the sewn part is now in the inside facing of the horn

*use a tapestry needle to weave in end (do not weave in the beginning yarn tail you created before your
1st CH at the base of the horn, you will be using that to sew the base of the horn to the hood)

*fill the horn with stuffing or your extra yarn pieces (I used my extra yarn scraps)

*move the stuffing / yarn pieces around by using the end of a crochet hook and shaping the horn for it
to take its form

*Sew horn on center of the top portion of the hood approximately 2 inches from front of hood opening

*Once the horn is sewn on, sew an ear on each side of horn

*Use a tapestry needle to weave in ends

ATTACHING THE MANE: (Use the Lions Brand Landscape – Boardwalk yarn and a I/5.5 hook

*To prepare your hair for the mane, you will want to cut pieces of the yarn that measures about 8 inches
in length. I like to cut a whole bunch of yarn at one time so I can use the colors throughout the area I
am working on to give it that rainbow effect.

*Fold your 8 inch yarn in half, knot a piece of yarn in every ST in the center row (right behind the horn)
by using your hook to slide the yarn in the ST, pull the two end pieces through the loop to tie your knot.
Now you should have two 4 inch pieces of yarn sticking out of your stitch.

*Each piece of yarn that was knotted needs to be pulled apart and untwisted. This type of yarn does
shred easy, so I found that using my tapestry needle to separate the twisting of the yarn, worked a lot
better than using my hands.

*You want to place all pieces of untwisted and separated strands upwards to the top of the hood so you
are not brushing the actual hood when you brush out the hair.

*Lay the hooded scarf on a hard surface (I found this easier to brush and shape the hair) Take your
bristle brush or your wire dog brush and start brushing upwards from the roots of the hair on your hard
surface.

*There will be LOTS of shedding of the hair. Don't freak out that too much hair is coming off on your
brush, it is suppose to do that. Try to brush out all the hair until you almost don't see any more threads
in the yarn. Make sure to keep cleaning out the hair on your brush so that the bristles can do their
correct job. You will be cleaning out the hair a lot on your brush.

*You can add as much hair as you desire to fill in your mane. I did another 2 rows to the right and to the
left of the first center row with a knotted piece of yarn in every ST

*Continue the mane down the backside of the hood by adding and knotting a piece of yarn to each ST
down the center of the back of the mane.

*Add as much yarn as desired to create a full mane, I did another 2 rows on the right and left side of the
center backside of the hood with a knotted piece of yarn in every ST

*Once yarn is knotted and untwisted, go ahead and brush out again in sections of the mane

*Your mane will start taking its form the more you brush it out
ADDING THE BUTTONS TO THE POCKETS:

*I picked up these buttons in 3 different colors at my local Walmart for 88 cents for a pack of 6 buttons

*Using a piece of cut yarn, thread it through the button holes, use your tapestry needle to attach the
yarn through the back of the pocket, once both ends of the yarn from the button are threaded through
the back of the pocket, knot the yarn together and cut off excess yarn, repeat this process for all
buttons.
