कहलाती है । / The devices, which are used by the user to provide data and instructions to the computer,
are called input devices.
 इिपुट डर्वाइस उपयोगकताश से इिपुट लेिे के बाद इसे मर्ीिी भाषा में पररवनतशत करती है और इस पररवनतशत मर्ीिी भाषा को
सीपीयू के पास भेि दे ती है । / Input device after taking input from user converts it into machine language
and sends this converted machine language to CPU.

 Nowadays the use of 'Qwerty' keyboard with 104 buttons is in vogue. / आिकल 104 बटिों वाले ‘Qwerty’
की बोर्श का प्रयोग प्रचलि में है ।
 It is called QWERTY keyboard because there are 6 buttons on the left side of the top row of letters
in the order of Q, W, E, R, T, Y. / इसे QWERTY की-बोर्श इसनलये कहा िाता है क्योंडक अक्षरों की र्ीषश पंवि के बाईं
ओर Q, W, E, R, T, Y के िम में 6 बटि होते हैं ।
 The keyboard was earlier connected to PlayStation-2 (PS-2) and nowadays it is connected with USB
port. / की-बोर्श को पहले (पीएस-2) (PlayStation-2) से िोडा िातापथा और आिकल यह USB पोटश से िोडा िाता है ।

 Types of keys on keyboard / कीबोर्श पर कुजियों के प्रकार

(1) Alphanumeric keys (अक्षरांकीय कुंजियााँ) –
Includes: Alphabet keys (A, B, C_ _ _ _ _ Z) and number keys (0, 1, 2, _ _ _ 9)

(2) Numeric keys (संख्यात्मक कुंजियााँ) –

 There are located at the right-hand side of the keyboard. / ये की-बोर्श के दायीं ओर जस्थत होती है ।
 They consist of digits (0, 1, 2, ……9) and mathematic operators. / ये कुंजियााँ अंकों (0, 1, 2, ……9) और
गजितीय ऑपरे टसश से नमलकर बिी होती है ।

(3) Function keys (फंक्र्ि कुंजियां) -

 These are also called programmable keys or F keys. / इन्पहें प्रोग्रामेबल कुंजियााँ या F कुंजियााँ भी कहते हैं ।
 They are lined across the top of the keyboard and joined labeled F1 to F12. / ये कीबोर्श के र्ीषश पर पंविबद्ध

 The functions of these keys vary according to the software. / इि Keys के कायश software के अिुसार बदलते
रहते हैं ।

(4) Cursor control keys / cursor movement keys. / कसशर कंट्रोल कुंजियााँ / कसशर मूवमेंट कुंजियााँ।

(a) Navigation keys –

 These Includes four directional- Left, Right, Up, Down arrow keys, which are arranged in an inverted
‘T’ formation between the alphanumeric and numeric keypad.
इिमें िेववगेर्ि कुंजियााँ - चार डदर्ात्मक- बाएाँ, दाएाँ, ऊपर, िीचे तीर वाली कुंजियााँ र्ानमल हैं , िो अलफान्यूमरे रक और न्यूमेररक
कीपैर् के बीच एक उलटे 'T' फॉमेर्ि में व्यवजस्थत होती हैं ।
 These are used to move the cursor up, down, right or left. / इिका प्रयोग कसशर को ऊपर, िीचे, दाएं या बाएाँ ले
िािे के नलए डकया िाता हैं ।
 In addition to these four keys, there are four more keys, which are used to control the cursor. / इिप

(b) Home (होम) –
 It is used to return the cursor to the beginning of the line or the beginning of a document.
इसका प्रयोग लाइि के प्रारं भ में या र्ाक्प

 It moves the courser to the end of line or page. / यह कसशर को लाइि या पेि के अंत में ले िाता है ।

(d) Page Up (पेि अप)

 When it is pressed the page view is moved up by one page and cursor goes to the back page.
िब इस कुंिी को दबाया िाता है तो पेि का व्प
यू एक पेि ऊपर हो िाता है और कसशर वपछले पेि पर चला िाता है ।

(e) Page Down (पेि र्ाउि)

 When it is pressed the page view is moved down by one page and cursor goes to the next page. / िब
यह कुंिी दबाई िाती है तो पेि का व्प
यू एक पेि पीछे हो िाता है और कसशर अगले पेि पर चला िाता है ।

(5) Control key – It performs a special operation with the combination of other keys. / यह कुंिी, अन्प
य कुंजियों
के साथ नमलकर डकसी ववर्ेष कायश को करिे के नलए प्रयोग की िाती है ।
Example –
Ctrl + C – Copy (कॉपी)
Ctrl + V – Paste (पेस्ट

Ctrl + X – Cut (कट)
Ctrl + S – Save (सेव)

(6) Enter key –

 It is also called the main key of the keyboard. / इसे कीबोर्श की मुख्पय कुंिी भी कहते है ।
 It is used to finish an entry and begin the new entry in a document. / इसका उपयोग एक प्रवववि को समाप्त
करिे और एक दस्तावेज़ में िई प्रवववि र्ुरू करिे के नलए डकया िाता है ।
 The Enter key is an alternative way to press the OK button. / एण्‍टपटर कुंिी OK बटि को प्रेस करिे का एक वैकजलपक
तरीका है ।

(7) Shift key –

 Some keys on the keyboard like numeric keys have a symbol printed on their upper portion. Shift
key is used to print these symbols. / कीबोर्श पर जस्थत कुछ कुंजियां िैसे संख्यात्मक कुंजियों के ऊपरी भाग पर एक
प्रतीक मुडित होता है इि प्रतीकों को वप्रंट करिे के नलए Shift कुंिी का उपयोग डकया िाता है ।
 There are two shift keys on a keyboard. / कीबोर्श पर दो नर्फ्ट कुंजियााँ होती हैं ।

(8) Escape key (ESC) / एस्केप कुंिी (ईएससी)

 It is used to cancel or abort operations, which are executing at present. / इसका प्रयोग डकसी भी वतशमाि में
चल रहे कायश को समा्प
त करिे या बीच में रोकिे के नलए डकया िाता है ।
 It opens start menu with the combination of “Ctrl” key. / यह Ctrl कुंिी के साथ संयक्

(9) Backspace Key/ बैकस्पेस कुंिी -

 It is used to delete data from right to left. / इसका प्रयोग र्ाटा को दाएं से बाएं की ओर डर्लीट करिे के नलए डकया

(10) Delete key (डर्लीट कुंिी)

 It is used to erase information from computer’s memory and characters on the screen. / इसका प्रयोग

(11) Spacebar key / स्पपेस बार कुंिी –

 It is the longest key available on keyboard. / यह की-बोर्श पर उपलबध सबसे लंबी कुंिी है ।
 It provides a space. / यह एक स्प पस

 It is used to create or increase space between two words or letters. / इसका प्रयोग दो र्बप

(12) Caps lock keys / कै्स लॉक कुंजियााँ –

 Caps lock On – Alphabet in Capital (A-Z) / कै्स लॉक ऑि - कैवपटल में विशमाला (A-Z)
 Caps lock off / disabled – Alphabet in small (a-z) / कै्स लॉक ऑफ / डर्सेबल - अलफाबेट इि स्मॉल (a-z)

(13) Num lock key (िम लॉक कुंिी)

 It is used to enable and disable the numeric keypad. / इसका उपयोग न्प

(16) “Toggle keys” / टॉगल कुंजियााँ-

 “Caps lock and Num lock” keys are also called as “toggle keys” / "कै्स लॉक और िंब लॉक" कुंजियों को
"टॉगल कीज़" भी कहा िाता है ।

(17) Modifier keys (मॉडर्फायर कुंजियााँ) Shift, Ctrl, Alt

 There is no special use of pressing them alone, but when they are used with other keys, it changes
the input of those keys. That's why they are called ‘modifier keys’ / इिको अकेले दबािे के कोई खास उपयोग

Basically 3 types of Mouse / मूल रूप से 3 प्रकार के माउस होते है -

1. Mechanical Mouse / मेकेनिकल माउस – It was using the principle of friction.

There was a ball at the bottom and the direction was given by it. / यह घषशि के
नसद्धांत का उपयोग कर रहा था। इसमें िीचे की ओर एक बॉल होता था । इसके द्वारा निदे र् डदया
िाता था।
2. Optical Mouse / ऑज्टकल माउस – LED or LASER is used in it. / इसमें LED या
LASER का प्रयोग डकया िाता है ।
3. Wireless Mouse / वायरलेस माउस – It works on IR (Infrared) waves. / यह IR (Infrared) waves पर काम करता
है ।

There are three buttons used in Mouse. / माउसपमेंपतीिपबटिपकापप्रयोगपहोतापहै -

1) Left button (बायां बटि) -
 It is situated on left side of Mouse. / यह माउस के बाईं ओर जस्थत होता है ।

3) Centre Button / Scroll button / scroll wheel (सेंटर बटि / स्िॉल बटि / स्िॉल व्हील)-
 A mouse has a wheel in the centre which is called a ‘scroll wheel’ / button’. / माउस के मधप

Functions of Mouse (माउस के कायश)

(a) Single Click or left Click (नसंगल जक्लक या लेफ्ट जक्लक) –
 It selects an item on the screen. / यह स्िीि पर एक आइटम का चयि करता है ।
 Pressing and releasing the left mouse button once is called a click. / माउस के बाएं बटि को एक बार दबाकर
छोडिा, जक्लक कहलाता है ।

(b) Double click – (र्बल जक्लक)

 It is used to open a document or program. / इसका उपयोग डकसी दस्तावेज़ या प्रोग्राम को खोलिे के नलए डकया िाता
है ।
 Pressing and releasing the left mouse button twice is called ‘double click’. / माउस के बायें बटि को दो बार
दबा कर छोडिा र्बल जक्लक कहलाता है ।

(c) Right Click (राइट जक्लक)

 It displays a list of commands on the screen. / यह स्िीि पर आदे र्ों की एक सूची प्रदनर्शत करता है
 It is used to access the properties of a selected object. / इसका प्रयोग डकसी चुिे हुए ऑबपिेक्ट

 Moving the mouse from one place to another place by moving the mouse pointer on the icon of an

location file icon and releasing the left button is called Drop. It is used to move an icon, picture,

 It is an alternative to a mouse / यह माउस का एक ववकलप है
 In this a ball is present on the upper surface. It is used to control the movement
of the cursor. / इसमें एक बॉल ऊपरी सतह पर मौिूद होती है । इसका प्रयोग कसशर के मूवमेंट को
कंट्रोल करिे के नलए डकया िाता है ।
 The pointer can be moved, but the whole device cannot move. / पॉइं टर को मूव डकया
