Italian greetings are usually warm and rather formal.

The common greeting is a handshake with direct eye contact and a smile. If the
greeting is between a man and a woman, the woman generally extends her hand
first.
People avoid shaking hands over the top of other people’s hands. If someone has
dirty or wet hands, they may apologise and simply nod.
It is common to give air kisses on both cheeks (starting with your left) when
greeting. However, in Southern Italy, men generally only kiss family members and
prefer to give a pat on the back to show affection in a greeting.
Please arrive on time as invited
If the Italian invites you to dinner at 8 p.m., you should be there on time. Only then
did people prepare and cook some hot dishes. If you don't arrive on time they won't
cook. They won't cook it all and then put it all on the table like we do. They will
cook each dish. The dishes that need a lot of time, they will prepare in advance and
reheat and serve them one by one.
In the Italian meal, bread is indispensable. They are served with meat dishes; they
eat with noodles (pasta); they used to scrape the sauce off the plate (fare la
scarpetta); they tore pieces to eat with oil and vinegar.
Drink whatever you want, but after eating it is almost impossible without coffee.
An espresso/macchiato to clean the mouth. Absolutely they don't drink cappuccino
after a meal. Because this dish Italians only drink in the morning, while foreigners
drink at any time.
Dress smartly and make sure you present yourself neatly. Italians tend to take a lot
of pride in their appearance and typically look dapper for any kind of public
outing.
