- Three main types of managerial skills:

+ Technical skills: Technical skills include the specialized knowledge and
proficiency about the process and technique to implement specific tasks and
tools.
+ Human skills: Human skills include the capacity to cooperate with others both
individually and in group. Managers with good human skills get the best out of
their people. They know how to communicate, motivate, lead, and inspire
enthusiasm and trust.
+ Conceptual skills: Managers employ their conceptual skills to think through
and conceptualize difficult circumstances. These abilities help managers
perceive the organization as a whole and picture how the organization fits into
a large context.

The top managers emphasize Conceptual skills. This can be explained by the fact that
they are the ones who make the most important decisions and have a vision for the
development of the company. Moreover, they have already experienced the business world
long enough to understand the external environment, as well as the internal environment of
the workplace to select the most suitable goals for the whole organization.

It is observed that the supervisory managers need strong technical skills. This is
because they are the ones directly working and coaching the employees, they should barely
know how to run the machines or communicate with the executives about the issues the
employees are facing. Besides, the ability to resolve problems and keep the product line in
track is required for the first-line managers.

Middle managers are the ones who oversee the daily operations of an organization.
Technical skills, however, are considered pivotal for supervisory managers since they are
those who directly coach the employees as well as be responsible for the product line.

Overall, there are three types of managerial skills, including technical skills, human skills and
strategic skills. The conceptual skills are the most vital for the top managers as these skills
would give them the ability to address complex organizational problems and give the most
possible initiatives.Middle managers are the ones who oversee the daily operations of an
