Members Re: Letter of Recommendation for Leslie

Grace Ambrad Dear Sirs/Madams:

Greetings!

I am writing in relation to Leslie Grace Ambrad’s application to join the Japan Exchange
and Teaching Program next year. I pray that she will merit this committee’s approval to
participate in the said program based on her personal qualities that I have witnessed as her
professor at Cebu Normal University, Cebu City, Philippines, in the school year 2010-2011.

During the said school year, Ms Ambrad was my student in two subjects, namely: English
1005 (Language and Society) and English 1008 (Registers of English). In the first subject,
she was the second best performing student in the class, and in the latter, she was one of the
few who got the highest final grade. One does not get such high grades without a high level
of intelligence, diligence and perseverance. It was not just in my classes where Ms Ambrad
shone her brightest but in others as well. In fact, she graduated cum laude in 2013.

I believe that if allowed to participate in the JET Programme, Ms Ambrad will be an asset
and an inspiration to her students. Her open-mindedness and willingness to learn will also
enable her to improve as a teacher and become the best version of herself. Most importantly,
her grit will carry her through whatever trials and obstacles may come her way.

Thank you for your kind

consideration. Faithfully,

LYSTER T. RAMOS
Former Linguistics Professor
Cebu Normal University
