PERSONAL REFLECTION ON TEACHING AND LEARNING PRACTICES THAT

ADHERE TO REGULATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIED IN THE CODE
OF ETHICS FOR PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS

Name of Teacher: EVERLYNE P. SILOY Grade Level: KINDERGARTEN

Position: TEACHER III

1. The teacher is one of the architects of his learners, he designs, plans and guide
them to be a better person, and the teacher makes or breaks a learner. Since the
learner imitates or do the same things as what the teacher do, the teacher should
always be at his best behavior inside or outside the school premises. A teacher has a
duty to encourage students to learn to the best of their abilities, and also to teach
social values such as respect for self and others, integrity, responsibility, cooperation,
loyalty and honesty. But teachers must follow school rules and enforce all rules
equally. As what they say, you cannot give what you do not have, so before imposing
such, we, teachers should have these personalities which the students to follow
because learning by application is better than merely theory and being a teacher
means you have to deal with a lot of annoyance and you have to possess extra-long
patience for the students.

2. If one is attempting to live a just, and therefore ethical, life, then it follows that their
actions should be virtuous in their vocation as well as their personal life. Teachers are
expected to maintain challenging expectations that will improve the potential of all
learners through meaningful and inclusive participation in the classroom, school, and
community. These expectations are sometimes hard to comply but as a fountain of
knowledge and covered with professional ethics, I as a teacher should do not the best
but what is good and what my students deserve.

3. Teachers help students learn the basic academic, but they also teach valuable life
lessons by setting a positive example. As role models, teachers must follow a
professional code of ethics. This ensures that students receive a fair, honest and
uncompromising education. A professional code of ethics outlines teachers’ main
responsibilities to their students and defines their role in students’ lives. Above all,
teachers must demonstrate integrity, impartiality and ethical behavior in the
classroom and in their conduct with parents and coworkers.
