7061MAA Assessment Question One – Quality Management


System and implementation tools

NOTE! This is an individual piece of work; this item of work


must be your own creation. Any instances of plagiarism will
be dealt with very severely.

Please note that this assessment is an individual piece of work and thus must be
unique. During the lectures and tutorials sessions you have worked in groups to
evaluate different quality aspects, tools and management systems.

This assessment requires you to revisits some of the existing quality management
systems (QMS) you have studied and evaluate them. In 1500 words (exclusive of
flow chart and its analysis) critically analyse selected QMS by considering the
following questions.

1. Create a comparison matrix of Total Quality Management principles and


clauses of ISO 9001:2015.
Furthermore, suggest modifications and developments you would introduce
to ISO 9001:2015 to improve probability of success during its
implementation within organisation (you can support your answer with a
case study).

(30% marks)

2. Create a detailed flow chart that provides an implementation plan of the


amended system (clearly indicating change you have proposed in part 1).

(30% marks)

3. Consider other process improvements tools that you could use during
implementation of your amended QMS.
In a clear and specific manner, show a detailed application of 2 of them with
benefits that they could bring to organisation.
(30% marks)

This is a postgraduate level assessment and as such should contain academic


references to support your discussion/arguments. The remaining 10% of the
assessment marks are awarded for presentation, format, referencing via CU Harvard
system and the use of appropriate relevant business language.

This piece of assessment is worth 30% of the total module mark.
