Guide in Using Learner’s Material

For the Parents/Guardian

This module aims to assist you, dear parents, guardians, or


siblings of the learners, to understand how materials and
activities are used in the new normal. It is designed to provide
the information, activities, and new learning that learners need
to work on.

Activities presented in this module are based on the Most


Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) for English as
prescribed by the Department of Education.

Further, this learning resource hopes to engage the learners


in guided and independent learning activities at their own pace
and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners acquire the
needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their
needs and circumstances.

You are expected to assist the child in the tasks and ensure
the learner’s mastery of the subject matter. Be reminded that
learners have to answer all the activities in their own notebook.

needs and interests using the IDEA
instructional process. This will help you
attain the prescribed grade-level
knowledge, skills, attitude, and values at
your own pace outside the normal
classroom setting. The module is
composed of different types of activities
that are arranged according to graduated
levels of difficulty—from simple to
complex. You are expected to answer all
activities on separate sheets of paper and
submit the outputs to your respective
teachers on the time and date agreed
upon.

INTRODUCTION
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is one of the components of
Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE). It offers a lot of skills appropriate for the jobs
offered by the different companies nowadays. Especially this time of pandemic that we are under
quarantine Technology is the prime source of our communication.

Online Class is the use of the common applications using your smart phone, Iphones,
laptop, tablet, desktop computer and etc. to convert face to face learning into online learning.

This module is divided into two lessons namely: Online Class using Schoology and
introduction to applications used for new normal communication. These lessons will help you
learn how to use common technology to communicate.

SUBJECT GUIDE

This subject area guided and provided the students to a reliable learning and modified
KWL learning structure. This area give hint, in what you Know about the topic by initiating your
prior knowledge, what you Want to learn, and what you Learned about the topic. In addition to
that, what you Need to know about the topic, which is the input of the referenced using your
main textbook for this subject area. About this learning module it focuses physical fitness with
the association of health-related and skill-related components for the body to function vigorously
and efficiently.

Read and follow the directions carefully given in every Unit. Students’ interaction must
be reliable in this learning module, be mindful and attentive in following the direction and the
icons that serve as your guide in learning activities that interact you.

difference between common noun and proper noun. The scope of this module permits it to be
used in many different learning situations. The lessons are arranged to follow the standard
sequence of the course. But the order in which you read them can be changed to correspond with
the textbook you are now using.

In the past lesson you, have understood that words which tell names, persons,
places, or things, and events are called NOUNS. In this lesson, you will know the
two types of noun the PROPER NOUN AND COMMON NOUNS.

DIRECTIONS: Read the passage carefully. Underlined the nouns found on the passage.

THE FARMER

Mang Efren lives in one barangays in Tarragona. He is a farmer. He has six


children, namely Maria, Marta,Pedro,Juan,Ben and kiko to feed on. That’s why he
needs to work hard to earn money.

He gets up before sunrise while the air is still fresh and cool to work on the field.
He leaves the house to go to his farm by walking. As soon as he arrives in his farm,
he actively works by plowing, applying needed fertilizers and pruning.
Around 9:00 in the morning, he takes a break, changes his wet clothes, and takes
his breakfast. At 9:30, he returns to finish his work. In the afternoon during the
hottest hours of the day, Mang Efren takes a rest at the shaded part of the farm.

Every late afternoon, he checks and monitors the growth of his plants. While in the
evening, he spends his time with his family. After a week of hard work, Mang
Efren spends his Sunday with his family and they go to church together.

What is it

Common noun names a kind or type of person, places, things or idea. It is usually not
capitalized unless it begins a sentence or is part of a title.

Proper noun names a particular persons, places, thing, or idea and begins with a capital letter.
