 A business plan is a detailed and integrated written document prepared
for opening and operating a new entrepreneurial venture.

Questions:

1. Among the two entrepreneurs, who do you wanted to be? Why?

 Entrepreneur Y made the better decision among the two entrepreneurs by
planning first before starting a business. I wanted to be the Entrepreneur Y
because it is a must to plan and gather information first before opening or
putting a business.
2. What is/are the risks to be taken by each entrepreneur?
 The risks to be taken by Entrepreneur X is what happens if his business fails to
expand and he has spent too much money. Planning is required before starting a
business. Entrepreneur Y, on the other hand, is heading in the right direction.
3. What do you think the importance of business planning is?
 A business plan is an essential strategic tool for entrepreneurs. A good business
plan not only helps entrepreneurs in focusing on the particular procedures
required for their business ideas to succeed, but it also helps them in achieving
both short-term and long-term goals. The significance of creating a business
plan is it will serve as a guide for your business.

The story of Benedict De Vera

I grew up in a family where my needs, as a child, were not provided for. Now,
we’re able to pay our loans while still having enough to invest in business and we’re able
to save as well. We only experienced this achievement after we make a business plan
before opening and putting a business. I am Benedict De Vera, owner of BDECS General
Merchandise. I grew in the province of Bicol. We are ten siblings and we have a simple
house, with neither electricity nor water. My father worked as a laborer at a rice field
while my mother stayed at home. I wasn’t able to finish my education because we didn’t
have enough money. I first worked in Manila as a sales representative at malls, I also
became a janitor because contracts here in Manila end frequently. After six months, I
would find a new job. My wife stays at home to take care of the kids while I work. I
noticed the minimum salary was not enough. That’s when I had the idea to start a
business. Opening a business should undergo planning first. The importance of making a
business plan is it will serve a guide for your business. Within six months of selling,
there was a huge improvement. Now, we can buy whatever we want for our children.
While still having enough capital for the business. This is our goal to become an
inspiration to others, who, like me, have no prior experience with business. There’s hope
for them to rise above.
