Q. Describe the Shouldice production process. What are the inputs, outputs, activities and resources? What are the major process steps? Ans.

INPUT:
High Experience Doctor Highly Expertise service 4 Days time on each patient Sleeping pills, Pain Killer and other medicine Additional patient rooms & recreational areas Lounge area, admission office, patient rooms Very low Recurrence rate( 0.18) Service Market leader Creates a High Demand ( It becomes a problem in latter)

OUTPUT:

Problem:
1. The problem for Shouldice is facing a contradiction of change. Shouldice is best on operating level for a Hospital with limited Area, a specialized medical team but are failing to meet all the demand for its chosen market niche. Adding additional area/Doctor/Time to meet the unmet market need may make anger the existing team and push to lower service quality. Failing to meet the market demand may invite competition that could eventually cause Shouldice to lose market share and end up with excess capacity. 2. Some doctors think that the surgery done by Shouldice is a bread butter type thing. So they tried from their side and due to their failures the Shouldice method lose its reputation
