The VLT 2800 series has a selection of additional features that are designed to optimise operation and protection of system components for typical applications.

Built-in wobble function

On a textile winder the wobble function is used for the traverse function. {part num} operates a motor, which turns a grooved drum. During winding, the grooved drum places the thread in a diamond
pattern in the correct position on the bobbin. When the traverse drum operates at a constant speed, the thread crosses at the same position for each pass, which results in loose and less compact
winding on the bobbin.

Precise stop
On a conventional variable speed drive, digital inputs are scanned periodically - this initiates the Stop command. With a periodical scan, uneven delays can be caused as the drive scans all other parts
of the program. VLT 2800 solves this problem as the Stop command is an interrupt rather than part of the scan, typically reducing deviation from ±10 mm to ±1 mm

Counter precise stop

After the start signal is received the VLT 2800 operates until the number of of pulses is seen at terminal 33. A Stop signal is generated and the normal stop ramp is used. The counter stop signal is
then re-armed and ready again for a new start command. The pulse input is designed to handle 24 V push-pull pulses from an encoder with up to 1024 ppr. The maximum pulse rate is 67,600 Hz.
