Guide Questions:

1. Given the salary scale for teachers is hardly enough to support a family, is CPD a
big sacrifice for teachers?

 Yes, Teaching Profession are meant to have a continuing Profession

Development (CPD) for them to be able an advanced knowledge, skills and
ethical values in a post-licensure specialization or in an inter- or multidisciplinary
field of study, for assimilation into professional practice, self-directed research
and or lifelong learning. But, the expenses evey teachers needs are also a big
sacrifice because of the salary scale for teachers it is not enough to sustain their
families amd their daily necessities. That's why majority of teachers are end up
to get a load just to sustain these expenses. Especially, teachers also the
provider of their families.

2. CPD units can be earned in different tracks but still need financial resources, do
you think this is the main reason why many are still struggling to earn CPD units?

 I think, maybe at some point. For all the expenses teachers should support on
their daily lives and necessities this CPD still matter. Because, Continuing
Profession Development is essential for them as a educator; it is their resource
to succeed on their teaching. However, financial resources is there need to get
that CPD units. Lack of enough salary for teachers is a struggle for them to
sustain their needs. But at the same time despite of all those sacrifices to have a
CPD units they could be promoted and increased teachers salaries.

3. CPD units can also earn teachers a promotion. Do you think this is the main
reason why many still wants to study again?

 Yes, definitely yes. In addition, to this CPD units can also earn teachers
promotion, teachers can lessen their stress amd pressure on their priorities.
Teachers known how difficult to be a teacher based on many paperworks,
teaching strategies to think, continuing study, and so on. The salary scale they
have is not enough to sustain their needs that's why they wanted to study again
like taking a masters degree and to teach to public schools like state universities
and State Colleges. Promotion is like a gold that every employees and teachers
wanted to have.
B. ENRICHMENT ACTIVITY:
Guide Questions:

1. If you can find a teacher in your neighborhood or if you know someone and can
communicate with him/her, kindly ask him/her how is he/she doing with his/her
continuing professional education? Is it difficult financially? Or are there other
reasons why he/she is having a hard time?

I have interviewed a teacher he is a fresh graduate his name is Jaymuel Alonzo. He

said that he is a currently private Filipino teacher in Southridge Private High School.
As a first timer in this profession he has having a struggles for him to adjust because
of the so called "first timer". However, when every quarter comes, he learned to
adjust. Teacher Jaymuel additionally said it is not easy for him especially he is a fresh
graduate so the salary he had is quietly not enough to support his younger brother in
College and other bills and payments he need to sustain but he is manifesting to
have a salary increase to our educators in our country because teachers really
deserves that. But teaching is the profession that destined to him, and he need to
deal in profession.

C.REFLECTION

1. Are you willing to go through CPD a few years after you are hired as a teacher?
Why?

 Yes, It would really helps me to gain more knowledge when it comes on my

profession. To have complex knowledge on my environment about what's the
timely developments and changes in the field of education and teaching, In fact,
as a student and future educator, I'm knowledgeable enough what the current
situation and struggles facing teachers nowadays that's why I'm planning to take
a masters degree it would help my profession to have a complex knowledge and
at thensame time I can sustain the daily necessities of my family and to be
fulfilled my part and responsibility as a future educator someday. Teachers is a
multitasker, they have a lot of strategies in different field. I believed in every
teachers.
