Many believe it is better to keep and spend money on preserving old buildings rather than build new
developments. I totally agree with this statement. This essay will discuss the reasons for this trend as
well as the effects and consequences.
First of all, old buildings contain the best knowledges about the past so students can use it as documentaries
to learn. For example, a building exists from the war has a number of historical information. Therefore by the
way visiting these buildings, the next generations can understand about the past more in term of daily lives,
routines ,…
Moreover, old buildings also exists as a witness to the flow of time. It is the quintessential values of each era
at the expense of years of labor and research of the previous generations. Because of that we must respect
and preserve those buildings sincerely and respectfully as a deep gratitude to our ancestors.
In addition, old buildings not only adds character to the area, but can also help attract investment, as well as
tourists if the structures are historically significant. For example, a historic but abandoned industrial building
can be turned into attractive destination – giving new life to a building and even a whole neighborhood.
Finally, it is based on evidence and examples with real life that it is better to preserve old buildings than
to demolish them and build modern ones.
